Looked at rightmove and its gone.

Looked at phone text from DD they didn't get it higher offer accepted. :(
You never know, the highest bidder might have over stretched themselves, or even try to play silly badgers and drop their price now the 'auction' is over. Dont hold your breath, but if it was meant to be, it will be.

  • DGD would like the entire set of Famous Five books for her b/day, so I have been browsing Amazon.

And they now do them for grown-ups too:

Tiny...I hope they get something...and I hope you dont think I've been challenging you this afternoon....its just sometimes when you look for a property and have been doing so for a long time, you kind of focus in on things that become "be all and end all"deal breakers...and sometimes you end up going round in the same circle.

Occasionally a step back from it and a rejig of your search area and criteria can suddenly flag up something that you previously hadnt noticed or overlooked....just because it was outside of the comfort zone.

The 2nd rental we bought was on a development that historically I hated for no apparent reason other than...hear say.
We even looked at the development many years ago when it was new build and at the time it wasnt what we were looking for.
When we were looking for the rental we must have viewed 40 properties with the EA ....who patiently took us round everything that we thought ticked our boxes.....he then suggested having a look at one on this development....and I only went because I was following OH that afternoon...

on paper it was nothing like we wanted...when we viewed it suddenly transformed into something we could do something with.....it needed a little work but thats what was putting others off but it meant we could do it our way.

3 years on and out of all the ones we have now...apart from the inherited family home... the one that I didn't want to go and see is actually my favourite...and if I ever had to choose one to live in it would be there.

Not challenged at all, it's been good to bounce things off you. :D

The have looked outside their comfort zone a few times.

One they put an offer that was not accepted, no one else offered, but when DD went back to look it was right under a flight path 5/6 planes in half hour she had gone early. Eventually couple of months later they got a call out the blue from EA that the couple would accept their offer but by then they knew it wasn't for them. I do think it's good they are not rushing into a decision though.

Another they offered on that needed lots of work doing also went for more than they could afford.

It's early in the year yet, hopefully a few more properties will find their way onto the market.
