Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

This pic is so very true. The kids on the right will have no childhood memories to look back on.
My three were probably the very last to have an old fashioned childhood, I dug my heels in and they were the very last to get any new tech.
Eldest son finally got a Gameboy after his SATS so he would have been 11. The first ipods we got were green ones I got with Boots points so that must have been when they were in their teens. We had VHS but didn't get a DVD player until very late and for the first year all we had was one film, Ice Age that I'd won. We had a home computer and eventually lap tops but as we were on dial up and on an even slower speed than now it wasn't used for endless you tube and film watching, mainly school work. Eldest child got her first phone at 14 I think.
My gang went on every school outing possible and did scouts, guides, brownies, cubs, beavers, and then all went onto to be young leaders - all before the time when every child had a mobile and became problematic.
When we went anywhere in the car it was always with a set of books to read or puzzle books or some sort of toy but mostly the car was a good place for conversations, catching up on the day - kids now get tablet type things put into their hands to amuse them, even when the families are eating out there is a child in the corner playing on a tablet ...
Rant over, who started me off :rotfl:“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

Watch with Mother, especially 'The Woodentops'
..and who remembers ..when mother would say what shall we have for dinner today?
the children sang..
What shall we have for dinner today
Dinner today
Dinner today
Dinner today
What shall we have for dinner today
Sawdust and hay for dinner today
(then repeated)
I think mother should have joined up with the elite for cooking tips!!:rotfl:

Remember DM getting an extra £4 off in totalwhen using the wine carriers? Buy 4 wines I think.
They put this offer on for fine wines a while back but it appears to work for other wines too
Worth a try:)
My Lidl have hidden those carriers

Taping Top of the Pops and trying desperately to stop the tape when the DJ started waffling and start it again for the next song :rotfl::rotfl:What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
