Thank you - your effective advertisement managed to get me to spend 39p more than I intended:rotfl::(:rotfl:.

There's more in Farmfoods too, that sometimes we tend to miss - or I do anyway:o - this is a one-off and I'm not planning on doing it again, but may help us as to what to look for as some of these may be quite regular prices - and I haven't made an attempt to be entirely comprehensive. Just quickly - no attempt to get descriptions exactly right:

    (Fresh) Swede 39p
Granulated Sugar 1Kg 59p - not clear what 'brand' as no indication on SEL in my store and no stock (however 2Kg Silver Spoon Avs M at 88p cheaper)
    Fox's Party Rings 125g 39p
    Lyon's Choc Chip Cookies 200g 39p
    Fox's Jam n Cream 150g 39p
    Lyons Coconut Mallows 125g 39p*
    Cadbury's Mallo's Chocolate & Jam 120g 59p
    Cadbury's Mallo's Caramels 120g 59p
M& Ms Spooky Colours Peanut Pouch (165g)39p
    Kerrymaid Buttery (1Kg) £1.00
Jucee NAS Apple & Blackcurrant Squash Drink 2L 59p
Jucee NAS Orange Squash Drink 2L 59p
Jucee NAS Cherries & Berries Squash Drink 2L 59p Bet I am missing some flavours in my store - shades of Ms:rotfl:!
Aqua Fruata Strawberry & Raspberry Flavoured Water (4x500ml)£1.00
    Branston Beans (410g) 3 for £1
    2xMcVitie's Golden Syrup Cake 2 for £1
    2xMcVitie's Jamaica Ginger Cake 2 for £1
    Freezer:
Bird's Eye Escalopes - Ciabatta (260g) 89p - potentially free as "Try Me Free" flashed packs
    Bird's Eye Escalopes - Focaccia (260g) 89p/free as above
Chicago Town Deep Dish Pulled Pork Pizza (2 per pack - 310g)49p
Farmfoods Chicken Breast Fillets (1Kg) 2 for £5
McCain's Quick Chips Straight Cut (4x100g)99p
McCain's Quick Chips Crinkle Cut (4x100g)99p However, McCain's Chippy Chips 1.5Kg are showing me 99p (probably best try A SP 75p vs T/M)
    Whitby Scampi Bites (250g)99p
    SFC Poppets 150g 59p
    Uppercrust Steak Pie (600g)£1.99
Uppercrust Chicken & Gravy pie (600g)£1.99
Birds Eye 4 Chicken Burgers 89p
Birds Eye 2 Chicken Quarter Pounders (227g)89p
Young's Admiral and Mariners Pies (340g) are each 89p but M has been better offer in the past
The Original Pancake Co. 4 Crispy Pancakes Cheese 75p
    Any 4 for £3:
900g Sliced Cabbage (however 750g Purple Cabbage T - still 50p RTC or has it now gone back to £1?)
    900g Garden Peas
    900g Cut Leeks
900g Diced Swede (however M in the past was cheaper on other pack size, now much more expensive there)
800g Brussels Sprouts (=93.75p per Kg, so Avs T for 90p net or maybe some in Lidl, if they still have any left, at 89p or Aldi same price)
    Getting more expensive:
    750g Sliced Mushrooms
    700g Spinach
    700g Country Mix
650g Whole Green Beans (works out at £1.15 per Kg:eek: - therefore Aldi 1Kg Green Beans 85p)
    650g Sliced Beans:eek:

*I think there are some other Lyons Mallows at 39p that I saw last time I visited but not there now, no SEL for them and no stock - so, no good, I'd need to visit at least twenty more Farmfoods before I am ever near any knowledge of what they have and at what price:p. This a one-off, so I don't intend to do so.

Prices collected instore, 8th February 2017.

We've just stopped telling Mum how much things cost (new glasses, mended denture) and just pay it from her account. Online banking makes it all so easy.

I'm trying to set up Online Banking for all her accounts at the moment, but have had all sorts of problems with them not recognising the Enduring Power of Attorney on any accounts that were opened after we registered the EPOA in 2007 for Branch Banking, or ANY accounts for Telephone or Online.

Have spent hours on the phone and in Banks trying to sort it out. Also failed security pretending to be Mum for telephone banking as she gave me the wrong passwords and they cancelled all the security passwords as a result. Could not get new passwords without involving Mum, as I was not being recognised as EPOA

Its very hard. I was in charge of sorting my dads finances out - Ive got 2 sisters but one was not in touch and inevitably it was me doing the majority of the work.
I was chief organiser even before he went into a home so it was just a continuation As soon as he went in and he wanted to stay there forever I made a solicitors appointment. She came out to see him and access him to make sure he had all of his faculties and then she did the Enduring power if attorney. I had copies made and took them with me everywhere when I was dealing with the finances.
We had a cheque book which needed either dads signature or mine - didn't need both. But he totally lost interest in the house once he was in the home so mostly I just got on with things, didn't tell him everything that was going in with the sale, no point in upsetting him with details.
If you can find the right support phonelines do ring them, a sympathetic ear is always a comfort

Mum still wants to know what is going on with her finances, just doesn't want the effort of dealing with it or sorting out any problems.
Haven't been offered a cheque book, will look into that, but they are supposed to be sending me a Card for her main Current Account, that will have her name and account details, but will have Power of Attorney next to her name, so I will be able to use it, without getting the 3rd degree in her bank.
I already use her cashcard in machines without a problem.

SS please seek some support, as a carer you are entitled to an assessment and support in your own right. Contact your local council, adult social care department for more information.
You may also have a local carer's association that can help too.

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately there are reasons why I don't want to involve the council or social services to do with my own health.
