I had a Knee length nightie and a dressing gown .Only trouble is belt is missing and it was quite a few yards from where I had to park to the Karcher. HaHa

it sounds quite becoming :) I always loose dressing gown belts

I think I would have still gone for it, thinking the loss of my dignity, a quick run along the road bra less would be worth it to collect a valuable piece of kit :) LOL
    I have no shame though

    Good morning everyone.

Put a load of washing in the machine, and now its started to rain.

Packed my eldest and his 5 friends off on the train yesterday to our holiday home, now 4 days of panic that they behave

    Welcome to the mad house.

I remember this, 6 16 year olds on a long train trip to Wales :)

is it a direct train or do they have to change at Shrewsbury?

how are they going to manage the catering? how close are the supermarkets?

probably they will all be very polite and well mannered - their mums must have trusted them to behave so you have nothing to worry about :)

    a question pretty please

I've been wearing walking trainers like karrimores from places like sports direct for years, very comfortable and I generally also have a new pair in readiness. my only complaint being that they seem to wear through the heels very quickly - hence why I ended up with sodden feet at the weekend

I had a quick look in sports direct at the weekend but despite the place being the size of a warehouse they only seemed to have one style and that was £30 :(

so I've just had a look on their website - I seem to think they have a weird return and refund policy so I've never ordered from them
they have a huge range online of karrimores starting from £9 but when I filter for size 5.5 or 6 mostly the price rises again. also they have running shoes which look similar to walking trainers so I can't tell the difference. the runners are a bit cheaper
so I also had a look at sketchers - same problem, cheapest ones in a size 5.5 or 6 is about £30

the price is not really such an issue if I can get what I need I just want really comfortable light weight walking trainers that it can walk in all day, lace ups in a dark colour as I attract mud, plus they have to last longer than a year which seems to be the life span of karrimores

I've got walking sandals for nice weather and main paths but I like feet covered in when we go on uneven ground.

I don't like proper walking obits with hight backs on the heels

mind you stinky trainers are probably not hygienic after a year.

if the under £15 ones lasted only a year I would not mind so much as you would think of those as disposable in the shoe bank but paying a minimum of £30 is not as good.

    any suggestions?

Have you got an Aldi or Lidl nearby? They have some trainers in - not actually tried them but they look OK.

Unfortunately Sports Direct have taken over a lot of the brands and now seem to have a monopoly.

Oh, and JD sports had some interesting looking ones in the sale, not sure if that is still on?

It is OK to be sad. Sometimes it just gets that way, when I feel like that I get out on my bike, maybe a bit of gentle exercise will lift your spirits? Oh, and don't worry about bringing the thread down, that is what we are here for. You have a lot of friends here, you are a valued and loved person, don't forget that xx

I am about all morning if you want to PM.

yes it's more than Ok to be sad - I could do with a good sob myself, we are in the middle of a really bad situation with errant son but there is nothing I can do to make things any better, it just has to be endured

so I am distracting myself this morning with thoughts of walking trainers and getting a bag of books together for Oxfam ...

    Morning all

I can PM Savvy on here (bound to be full), but don't have his email/phone/facebook etc :(

I think he will have taken the closed message at face value and will check back as the team said it would be reviewed.

    edit to add:

    1. Savvybuyer has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space.

    :rotfl:

    Clear out those messages Savvy!

Savvy has previously said that he doesn't do facebook and hasn't a mobile phone.

He has recently said that this interest was waning.I hope that he has not been put off altogether.

I often stay in my nightie till lunchtime at weekends and go out in garden and to bin or even car. I knew as the Karcher had been on the pavement for nearly 12 hours a few more minutes wouldnt matter.

Thanks mhoc...I'm not even sure I could put it all down in words,I guess it's a culmination of the differences between this year and last...I've been doing so well...but every now and again the mask slips.

Onwards and upwards I must not dwell...neither must you lot...that's why I only asked for one person to lift me up!
