To be fair, I have never creamed the butter first, seems that is my first mistake.

In our house the wife beats it until it's turned white and soft

Then adds 2 parts sieved icing sugar to 1 part butter, a splash of milk and a teaspoon or two of vanilla extract

2:1 as in volume or weight? Weight I presume?

Im going to have to find some cheap butter (darn, saw some reduced in morribobs the other night) and practice.

    Hi everyone, I’m back!

Thanks for the message TM and thanks DM for your hard work. It seems rather a lot has happened in my absence!

Been awol for a few weeks as it has been a rather hectic time
Went to Poland for a Wedding of some former workmates and had a great time. Polish Weddings take two days but we managed to stretch this to four! Hadn’t seen Bride or Groom for 5 years but always kept in touch, also others from the work team at that time were there so it was a great reunion. The Bride/Groom had moved to London, then Spain and now live in France. He is Polish, she is Portuguese, originally from the Gold Coast so we had 19 different nationalities amongst the 100 or so guests. The Wedding Party took over most of a Centre Parcs – type holiday village beside a lake which was a perfect setting.

Came back to a busy time at work but also socially within the family including another Wedding and Christening. 2 days at Wimbledon (a different world) and this week another neices’ Wedding.

Had a very brief catch-up, over an hour during the last couple of days but have given up trying to ever catch up – but it seems that some of the ‘interesting’ posts have been deleted anyway!

Hope we can all settle down now and find those glitches – I need Hair Products, Chocolate, Shower Gel and Nappies please?

Best Wishes to all, I’ll post this on both threads as I don’t want to miss anyone.

No persuading either cat out this morning, they have gone back to bed in disgust.
