Savvybuyer wrote: »I notice how you didn't reply (or didn't reply directly) to address the implied question I was asking:D.
I think that can only mean that it was me as people normally are embarrassed to tell others if that's the truth:rotfl:.
So, the lack of reply, as always, means "Yes Savvy you are totally correct!"
It does - if you get the Asperger's person, they'll give you a reply:o, but most people, if you say something that's true that hits the nail on the head, they go into this denial of the truth stage and are unable to cope with it - non-autistic people seem to me very good at deceiving themselves and pretending that things are not the case that are:rotfl:! People find it very easy to lie and are profound white liars. On this occasion, it's not been exactly a lie but instead this vagueness of "most of them are on this thread" which impliedly means me but won't say so directly or explicitly. It's the indirect communication that is meant to be polite. And it is, on this case, as it hasn't bothered me. So, the reply of "most of them are on this thread", together with the laughter, has not been rude. But neither did it address directly and say "yes it was you".
Actually, also, I occasionally do, I've sent emails a month or two ago to a couple of places and noticed that I've never had a reply. That can only mean, yet again, as it always does, that everything I said was correct and that they have no answer to give to me because they simply have no way of disagreeing with what I said:rotfl:. Must have hit the nail on the head right again!:D (And sometimes I do it just to try to be a bit mischievous as I love leaving others with no response to make.)
Or - actually - back to the original point - I've taken the indirect message to mean really it was me (but to be trying to tell me so politely) but, maybe, because of the indirectness and lack of clarity, I've gone and assumed that it means me and maybe I've therefore now misunderstood. That's the 'downside' of indirect, or euphemistic, messages sometimes - they are also ambiguous enough to be capable of being misunderstood. Especially, perhaps, by the person who has Asperger's who has less clue as to a 'bigger picture' and needs clear, explicit and direct communication more than other people - indeed the very type of communication that usually upsets, and doesn't work for, others who don't share my what turns out to be "unusual way of thinking". Unusual, but not incorrect. As neither way is correct or not correct.
I think you do mean me. But, with other people, they would be certain of this (but have got it through the polite indirectness). With me, however, since it is ambiguous and not direct, I am not completely sure. I think you mean me but, because of the indirectness, I don't fully know. So, I've no idea:rotfl:. "Most [people] on this thread" - could be anyone:rotfl::rotfl:.
Morning savvy,
Sorry for falling asleeep on you last night.......don't mean that literally of course:D
Strange people on this thread......what did I mean and who was I talking about......
Well yes of course I meant you, but I meant me as well and the majority of other people who post here.
We tend to be an untypical bunch due to our unusual buying habits. We are very far removed from the "norm":rotfl:
You might have missed a current Nectar promotion where you get points for booking a journey on a Virgin train. So lots of us are buying tickets for journeys that we won't take, just to get the points.
"Normal" consumers may think that's a bit odd, even deviant:D
Hornetgirl produces a picture of her socks to match her cat. Some people might think that's a little bit strange but we just think she's funny:rotfl: and there's dozens of examples I could quote you....just from the last day or so:) You get the unexpected and the unfamiliar here, the weird and the wonderful.
Definitely strange:D
So when we have a mundane day and it's a bit quiet it's a blessed relief:rotfl::rotfl:To do is to be. Rousseau

He will love it, whilst you will move from being so proud of him to having serious feelings of anxiety..... xSavvybuyer wrote: »I'm always looking things up in dictionaries. I googled one phrase tonight, that had been used on the news, and got a link to a !!!!!! site:rotfl:. Legal pornography I hasten to add (though I haven't actually looked at it to see that it is:rotfl: - and would not look at anything unless it was). I moved on and did not click on it. But, no, it was some type of hat clearly, the news mentioned, that has had me in stitches whenever mentioned and the presenter mentioned it twice!:rotfl::rotfl: - little do they seem to realise that, for me, the word they're using was (maybe still is?) more 'severe' than one that they absolutely refuse to use on the programme under any circumstances whatsoever. I was trying to find out whether the dictionaries supported me - having found the recent broadcasting research (the most comprehensive yet) had failed to include this sense of the word at all:rotfl:. I'm not complaining - it was extremely funny! Unintentionally no doubt. Btw, I don't care (do I look like I do?:D) about what people think about adult pornography, as many people proceed from emotional and what they've been told or conditioned to think perspectives rather than from any rational and logical approach. Such as the logical approach that it can break up families if someone is spending too much time away from proper loving relationships:rotfl:.
I think the whole thing does support my approach that the phrase on the news does have some connotation that I thought it had:rotfl:.
Now we all want to know what had been said!!

We bath our dog with baby shampoo and I noticed in Mr Shoes last week that their own range of baby products are 3 for £2.50 so with the 200 points and my 10 points per pounds for being in the.......ahem.......parenting club, three bottles would work out at 25p :j

You are so right TM, we don't turn a hair if we need to buy something we will never use in order to get something cheap or money off, and I doubt if there is many of us on here that are not members of parenting clubs whether we are parents of young children or not, we do what is needed in order to live frugally. If there was more of us I should imagine the retail sector would truly sufferWhat is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
