The rightful owner might have been hot-tailing it back from their car while you were wheeling it away.
If it had been handed into Customer Services, they would at least have had the chance of getting it back.

I can only repeat, how would you feel if it happened to you? :(

Phew so glad to be back, I really couldn't get to grips with who was posting what as I couldn't see what was being posted on my phone.

Big thank you to everyone for rounding everyone up...makes me think of this

Absolutely...if it's a bag or a purse I would and have in the past handed that in....and indeed the credit cards left on self serve(because I quite often leave mine there too)....

...but this bottle of wine did look like it needed re homing...

I'm going to do the almost right thing and food bank the value next time I'm there.

Why not food bank something which would have cost £10 to a muggle shopper, like the wine did? ;)

I'm sorry we dont agree on this one Pyxis....
If I had left something in a trolly and not taken it out when packing it into the car I would be thinking that maybe I should bag my things better next time....but I guess we all live and learn and lose something every now and again.

I never meant to turn this into something that became accusational so soon in our refurbished home

thats what I suggested a few posts back...there is a lot of bits and bobs that are very useful to the food bank box that I can get with £10.
and I'm more than happy to do that

I meant something that is worth £10 as opposed to something that cost you £10...

At least you got a bottle of red, I got a Fray Bentos pie that my husband then refused to eat :o

You need to get that link up for that hairy man you live with so we can all chip in. You need to post the link to the charities thread or something. Sure Di will help:)

I'll search out the charities thread in a mo, thanks for the nod this morning :)
