  • I'm here. Just sent DS over MIL's for a bath. Our heating hasn't been working right for about a month so only warmish water. It comes to the heat exchange scorching but is coming out tepid. OH thinks its the pump, I think its the exchanger, he reinstalled the wood burner and melted the casing

Well the weather has just been on and with the prediction of -12 he's suddenly interested in the heating. He has showers and doesn't get as cold as me so my complaining is just a minor annoyance atm. I think the thought of my complaining because of -12 is finally to much haha

  • I was just dismissive of it, but after you posted this I googled and I've just come across this:-

So, all 2p coins pre-1982 should say New Pence, and all those post 1982 should say Two Pence. But, in 1983, a mistake led to a batch of 2p coins being printed with the old wording of New Pence on them. If you have a 1983 2p with New Pence on it, look after it carefully.

OH said he is going to make a few! lol

There are also some undated 20p pieces still knocking around.

I scrutinise mine carefully before spending them - I even do it at the till.

But seeing as I have to look over the top of my specs and bring the 20p up close to look for the date, I must look like a blind old bat...:rotfl:

  • Hello there little Ms C x

Flip, it is a bit cold to bath in luke warm water. You are lucky MIL is happy to allow DS to bath there (my mum would never agree) How do you melt the casing?

The woodburner is only a few inches away. I didnt really want it back in but I came home from work and it was there.

MIL is only about 20 yards away :)

I love old houses, really love them.. I dream of them. So I am a little jealous x

  • That would have broken my heart, have a few signed books, obviously a few by Terry Pratchett, but also one signed by Terry Waite and one by Stephen King.

Its a signed Jasper Fforde :( I'm wondering about buying a replacement and then cheekily email to see if he'll sign it. No idea how to get the small mould spores off the adjoining books. Probably something on oldstyle
