Did anyone see comments on the internet about the old 2 pence pieces which have New Penny on them... supposed to be worth significant more than they face value. I say supposed, as when we looked in our house we found 9 clearly they are not rare!!100

had to empty my bookcase to move it from the dining room to the living room, seems the roof has a tiny leak that has dropped on to it and ruined a few books and some have gone mouldy. Only reason I didn't cry was my Terry Pratchett's were ok

It comes to the heat exchange scorching but is coming out tepid. OH thinks its the pump, I think its the exchanger, he reinstalled the wood burner and melted the casing
Hello there little Ms C x
Flip, it is a bit cold to bath in luke warm water. You are lucky MIL is happy to allow DS to bath there (my mum would never agree) How do you melt the casing?100 -

That would have broken my heart, have a few signed books, obviously a few by Terry Pratchett, but also one signed by Terry Waite and one by Stephen King. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Needs to be a particular year - can't remember which one.
I got quite excited till I realised they are date-specific...“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

They have to be from 1983 and have new pence on them.
If you have a 1983 2p with New Pence on it, look after it carefully. It is rare and is an example of the coins that Mr Hill highlighted his auctioneers as having sold for between £500 and £700.
If you have a 2p with New Pence on it from 1981 it is also worth holding on to because it too is worth money: 2p to be precise.:rotfl:I do try to keep up but sometimes life gets in the way.
I'm just a penny short of a pound. Peace and Love.

I was just dismissive of it, but after you posted this I googled and I've just come across this:-
So, all 2p coins pre-1982 should say New Pence, and all those post 1982 should say Two Pence. But, in 1983, a mistake led to a batch of 2p coins being printed with the old wording of New Pence on them. If you have a 1983 2p with New Pence on it, look after it carefully.
OH said he is going to make a few! lol100 -

I thought that a 2 p piece was worth more than 2p in scrap value (but the scrap merchants are not allowed to accept them!)
