  • Good morning all, cloudy and mild here.

I've just worked it out, my OH has 5 drills!! Two battery ones and 3 corded ones! How did that happen

He needs two for work, one corded and one battery, but that is just crazy!
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

Sounds like NPower may have got their act together. Im with BG and pay £64.00 per month for Gas and Electricity. Mind you there's only me here so I am very frugal with both.

Don't get me wrong, I understand different tools for different purposes and different drills, or upgrades, just not two of the same at the same time. Though I suppose you do have the benefit of not having to wait for the battery to charge mid job :).

1 is a drill and the other is an impact driver. OH would have found it useful as it saves swapping between drill bits and driver bits. It was a proper pain when we did my picture wall last weekend swapping all the time

Every year I think I will get some apple boxes from the greengrocer with the cardboard divisions which are supposed to protect the apples but would be ideal for decorations.... and every year I never actually do this!

That is nice to hear but also highlights that people in our country often do not have their basic needs met (or don't have the skills to met their own basic needs).. very sad.

That is impressive Ms bubbs x

Now were are you going to store all of it!

Its home and away the stuff that was for me, the rest s in the car for sis:p:D

It must be a January "spring clean" thing in retail given most of the major stores, Wilkoand and Poundstretcher have all ramped up their range of storage.

Wilko have four drawer plastic units for £10 which seem reasonable.

I have not gone all out for the shelving from Arg0s that has been mentioned on here at £7.99 ... though that may be coming next.

This year various stores even seem to be pushing plastic boxes for storing Christmas trees - I don't recall seeing them before, what is wrong with the old cardboard box and even more sticky tape :D.

    Good morning Elite :hello:

Overcast and very still this morning, the calm before the storm

Very late turning lights out last night/this morning but I slept until 9am, grabbed the coffee that marmite made me :T. Yes it was cold, but cold black coffee is fine with me. Thank you marmite x

All this talk of drills, I think Mr AJ has 4, none of them are here  I think, no am sure DS3 has them as he did a heck of a lot of diy in 2016, inside and out.

I'm hoping all my Elite sick friends are feeling a little better this morning, hugs to those in need xx

Go get the bargains today Elite, then come home and make me envious :rotfl: :rotfl:

Off for a hot coffee then a shower, see you later xx
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

It was on the news over Christmas (was it India?) where they withdrew and replaced the larger denomination bank notes with only a short amount of notices, as people were keeping cash and if I understood correctly avoiding paying taxes. I think it was a way of discovering who has all the cash and if it has been declared/taxed.

As they withdrew so quickly the new notes have not been produced quickly enough for banks and cash machines, so business are closing as they cannot pay their staff and people haven't the money to spend (electronic banking is not as well established).

At least we have been given sufficient notice.

The changes to currency in India has been horrendous, especially for the poor as it was done very quickly without the banks etc being prepared to manage the situation....... resulting in a lot of people loosing their money.

Whilst it has been aggressively implemented, the positive side is that there have been no loopholes, they have seen a surge of money going into the banks and people having to pay taxes so hopefully in the long run it should be better for the poor (assuming a progressive taxation system!)
