I too think it is from the Shaggy Ink cap family of mushrooms which are edible... name(Coprinus comatus) or in English Lawyers Wig
Smell Faint, mushroomy.
Gills White turning pink and then grey to black when they start to 'melt' from the edges.
Spore Print Blackish brown.
Stem White sometimes hollow, long, thin and with a slight ring that detatches easily. Slightly swollen base.
Cap Finger shaped, long cylindrical cap starting to melt from the bottom edges into a conical shape. White with off-white/pale tan scales turning grey black, can have a pink tinge.
Flesh White.
Habitat Grows in grass by the sides of roads, lawns, flower beds and recently disturbed soil. Can be found individually or in large numbers.
Taste Very good when young. One of my favorites for creamy sauces and because it can found in large numbers.
Possible Confusion You are unlikely to confuse this species with anything else except when the emerging young fungi first appears.[STRIKE]68 [STRIKE]Mouses[/STRIKE] [/STRIKE]

Mum is doing very well - she spent a night in intensive care but she's been moved to a normal ward and they are very pleased with her progress. Not sure when she will be home - it could be today, any time over the weekend or early next week. Sadly, I think her discharge is more likely to be based on how badly they want her bed rather than her progress
Glad your mum ok, and she will recover better at home.0 -

Asda this morning xmas wrapping paper all 10p
Cards 5p and 10p
Thank you. I forgot to look for cards. Wrapping paper 90% off, so the rolls priced £2 were selling for 20p. I found some white stuff with silver stars so can be used at other times of year too. SEL was 'from 25p' and staff did not know it was less than that now.
Morries is also reducing wrapping paper and bows etc heavily. Wrapping paper seemed to be 15p and packs of bows at a similar price.

Sorry Sunflower, did not mean to ignore your post. I should have caught up before posting...0 -

I am very impressed with M customer services. Mega crisis with Mum and we need Earex urgently. I have been stuck inside waiting for screenwash to be delivered (thanks Dave) (they didn't ring the doorbell and left it with the house over the road -- I despair!) and rang M as they are the cheapest. CS rang round and reserved it for me at my local store. She was lovely.
I am also impressed with Tala. The markings on my jam thermometer came off and I emailed them. Not only did they replace it but I got a lot of other jam-related goodies like labels and waxed circles etc.0
