Good morning Elite.
Hope everyone is warm, happy and well. Hugs to those not so.
Typical. I have three days in a row off work and I am full of cold. So today I shall mostly be not getting dressed and not moving off the sofa.

I am only glad I have not had my breakfast yet lol
Does anyone know where I can get cheap microwave plate warmers? I do not want to pay what Amazon etc are asking, only need to warm 2 plates. Currently just bunging them in the microwave for a couple of minutes with a mug with a small amount of water in it.
when I warm my plates in the microwave I just put about a teaspoon of water on both of the plates, "buzz" for 1-2 minutes then pour any residue water off. I know of others who just put the plates in dry and sees to work fine.( does not blow up, as we were all told microwaves would do if you did not have any liquid) Alternatively run enough hot tap water in the sink to cover the plates, leave for a couple of minutes then lift out on to drip tray for 30 seconds:- warm dry plates

As has been mentioned previously TSB drops their interest rate from 5% to 3% today and only up to £1500 from £2000.
if any one has a empty Nationwide account like me, (I used it for a year for the 5% rate but then they dropped their rates to 1%) it may be worth transferring your excess £500 from TSB to NW.
I've done this with both my TSB accounts this morning until I can set up another decent paying account...just an idea rather than have zero interest in the interim
The interest rate today has dropped from 5% to 3% on balances up to £1500. You can have two individual accounts and one joint account as well. Not as good as Tesco which do not require certain pay ins each month
Yes, my bad.......edited thanks.... it was Santander that dropped from 3 to 1.5%"He that lieth down with dogs shall rise up with fleas" Benjamin Franklin

I, too, warm my plates by putting water on them or by putting them under something I am cooking in the microwave. I did buy plate warmers years ago from Lakeland but they were rubbish. I think they refunded me and now they sit between frying pans to protect the one below from the one above!0 -
