Morning all! I have a lot of veg to use up following all the 10p T reductions. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get through the potatoes and carrots easily enough, but I have almost a whole swede, and dozens of parsnips which never seem to last that long even though my kitchen is freezing. With this in mind, does anyone have any suggestions for recipes please and thank you? DH won't eat soup, so I was thinking about trying parsnip crisps as I don't currently have enough freezer space if I made roast parsnips for future use. TIA :D

Fwiw, since no-one will now be able to buy anything this late on today:j (therefore saving money:rotfl:), it seems there have again been some changes in M today. Two versions of Quality Street Matchmakers - Honeycomb and Zingy Orange - are now each 75p. No good as they've been 50p for the best part of the year:rotfl:. Cool Mint is still £1 - it never went onto reduction last time as far as I have ever been aware. Apart from that, there's some tiny puzzle games that have gone to 50p and, from yesterday, (it's a freezer item) M Ice Cream Chocolate (9 per pack - 153ml) at 50p. It will be lucky, I think, if you find that one. Sorry I did find that, but no stock, in one of my stores yesterday and I'm unable to lie or pretend I didn't:o - it was simply one I didn't mention - but I did find stock today which has since filled in the weight detail.

There seems to have been a sneaky price increase today on at least one version (and, I've no doubt, both) of Oreo Thins. My first store showed no SEL and the second store showed £1.08 (however I have a store before showing £1.08 when they were 50p). They have gone up from 50p to £1.08 however! As this was an item to be bought in M, that would have remained on the list had I not checked today, this will now be deleted.

I haven't seen any Creme Eggs in M. I saw some in Mr A:rotfl: - they were individual eggs though and they seemed to want 50p:eek: for a single egg! I do not doubt that there are (or were yesterday) some packs at at least one of the Ms in St. Helens, although I have visited neither of them today. I think these are probably items like the Jacob's caddies that someone managed to buy at 50p before the season started. Items such as this do seem to be in very few stores. I never saw any Jacob's caddies that late, but still early enough, in the year and, when I did have them, they were £1.50:( and then appeared in many stores. One of the Jacob's Caddies, as at 4 o'clock this afternoon, was still £1:(. I think they have a 75p price in between to get to (which they are not even at) before they get to 50p. The trouble is the muggles buy them at £1. I think, near the start of this year, I managed to find some and bought them at 75p and even then I no longer had all the different ones - I managed to have only a couple of them and with not much stock. The varieties I did have then disappeared on me so all of them went and I never had stock of any them when they were 50p, just the odd annoying 50p SEL with no stock by that stage:(:rotfl:.

I haven't found any of my three items (Nestle Walnut Whip bar, Cadbury Festive Friends or Cadbury Fingers Star), but I don't doubt that they are out there somewhere. I have been looking in the normal aisle runs, as well as on the ends, although it seems mainly to be the Lebuchken selection that gets put onto main shelves in some stores and not the, for me, elusive items.

I am reaching the stage, however, where new stores are now not really adding much further to what I already have. One of the stores today was useless in that I found nothing extra at all (and yesterday one store, a very small one, gave me a single item:( - it had no Christmas items at all:eek:) - nonetheless I've not had a completely wasted journey as the one store that gave no nowt:( allowed me to purchase a no-SEL pack of Kipling Fancies as a replacement:mad: for the ones I bought the other day. They were bought as a "treat" and the problem is that the treats are rare enough to be real treats (otherwise I would be buying them more often and spending more!) that they scoff the entire lot - three later in one sitting! - before I even manage to have any:(. I have managed to get some as a replacement - so simply getting twice as much and paying full one pound:mad: - that will now be hidden from view until at least I can consume some (and not on the very day of purchase - I want them at least to last!). But, anyway, the one store that gave me no further items at all, allowed me to spend more money:( by having the Frosty Fancies that I didn't find anywhere else today:cool:. So, it was useful for that:p:rotfl:.

The Jacob's caddies, of course, will go to 75p or 50p on whichever day I don't go to M. I will be updating the list later and probably end up putting it to out of date information on Monday but at least it will be closer to the position in M by then than it is now:cool:. So, just to be aware that early New Year will be a little out of date here and there and just to double-check with msm etc. if relying on at that time!

Main item I found in my first store (which wasn't the one with no extra information) wasn't one of the seasonal items (now out of season:D:T) at all but instead another item in a range - one of these rare world foods items - that I didn't have in my stores on Wednesday check day:rotfl: - though I've no doubt that it was on the offer price then! So that now :doh:gets added to my information:rotfl:.
