I bought a Canon Black Friday last year (or was it the one before ), it is a combined printer and scanner, only bought it because it was cheaper than a scanner, but it is a great little printer and I get the ink really cheaply off Ebay, the print is still good.
Just realised what that sounded like. I baked the cake a loooong time ago, the baking I am doing today will be mince pies and cheese strawsWhat is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

I thought it sounded a bit ambitious!“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

Paid with cc vouchersEvening Elite
I am off on my travels again. Took dogs to boarding then drove down to Portsmouth. Tomorrow my friends are coming over and the four of us are going to stay at Gatwick Travelodge for two nights as we are going on a Santa Special Steam Train Trip from London to York, with a few hours in York to browse around. Really looking forward to it
Well I've caught up and I'm going to sleep now as tired after drive with little sleep the night before
Sounds like fun.:D:DSomething unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

You will be amazed to hear that I made it home without opening a packet and scoffing the lot:rotfl:
Morning all! TM, my lidl has the same cheese stock problem, I suspect they're either withholding stock to avoid people using the vouchers, or it's the most popular of the 4 vouchers. But I'd definitely recommend it you have time to go back to lidl, it's really good taste-wise and value-wise.ilovetoshop wrote: »Today I signed up to be a befriender, whilst doing so I heard so many tales that broke my heart...a 90 year old lady on her own,no family and sits on the bench outside the doctors in the hope that someone will stop and speak to hercan I suggest that if anyone has 1 hour to spare a week that they look in to their local befriending service because that one hour could really make a huge difference in someone else's life x
My dad has recently started a non-medical care business, offering handy-man services, gardening, cleaning, household odd-jobs and companionship. He's had so many people say he should be really busy because there is so much demand on local services, but he finds so often that his potential customers would prefer to struggle along on their own.
It seems that often they're either too proud to ask for help, or they're unaware of how difficult things are for their spouse (often due them having a dementia diagnosis), or they insist that the NHS should do everything for them, even if it means waiting months for help. He sees so many people struggling but unwilling to do what needs to be done to help themselves.
He recently signed up for this befriending service, as he wanted to offer some time for free as part of a recent charity initiative, but the contact he spoke to said they have the same problem. They find that potential users of the service insist they don't need it because they already have friends, even if their friends are in their eighties/nineties and don't leave the house or call them anymore
So it's nice to hear that your local service is having more success in that sense, maybe it's a sign of things beginning to change? No one should go days on end without talking to another person, it's hard for most of us to even imagine what that would be like.
On a lighter note, I hope everyone has a successful and fulfilling day, and hugs for anyone who needs it0 -
