I live in a hard water area and need help de scaling a metal kettle. I've never in my born days seen such a build up in a shortish space of time.

I bought a packet of descaler from Mr A, but to be honest it didn't do a brilliant job. Have I seen mention of using vinegar ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    From Desperate of Suffolk

I tend to use vinegar half and half with water. I boil the kettle and add the vinegar then just bring it back to the boil and leave for a while. Keep the water/vinegar level just to the level of the scale because it will foam when it reacts, you might need to repeat if it is bad. Obviously rinse well.

Funny but true DM :rotfl: :rotfl:

Great to hear that Rebecca is doing well now. How do you manage when you go cruising, does she go into a kennel or dog sitter, I bet she misses you so much X

Just collected mine, never seen such bashed up things!
Soaps are well battered, bag is dirty, box is dirty and badly torn, no way suitable for a gift, don't even fancy using them myself!!

Smell nice though even through the packaging, should keep the moths at bay!!

    Thanks for posting though.....

Forgot to call at Boots for my soaps....dying to see what the Orla Kiely make up bag is like.....have you got yours bubbs?

Just collected mine from Boots and the soaps are in a similar condition...packaging all scuffed, worn and torn and the so-called 'canvas make-up bag' is actually a 'limited edition drawstring washbag' in a livid orange patterned plastic.....yuk! Even at the reduced price and with the points I am very disappointed with Boots! :(
