If you hover over a link and the address bar shows you the website you will be taken directly to then it's ok

If you hover over a link and the address is gobbledegook (like jelwjensm.bk) then it's a shortened url because it will take you to an entirely different website

I think the original point of them was to fit long urls into tweets (as in twitter :rotfl:)

Ahh, I see. So really I could not make up a shortened link could I. I would need a server or something.

to clear up the issue surrounding shortened links here is the relevant bit from the rules:

    • Why can't I use t i n y u r l, etc?
In the past sites such as t i n y u r l, s n i p u r l, bitly, Makeashortlink and others have been used to hide referral links, which we don't allow on the forum, so they've been banned
    • If you want to shorten a link to post it on the forum, please only use the following method:
      • Type the text - eg, "MoneySavingExpert" - that you want to display instead of the link.
      • Highlight the text with your mouse.
      • Click the hyperlink image (createlink.gif) at the top of the message.
      • A pop-up will appear asking you to enter the link you want this text to link to. Enter the link, and click OK.
      • Save your post and you'll see your link is clickable

Just won a £10 Amazon GC, thanks to 10 Ways.

Have taken the following straight from 10 ways FB page. I've saved the photo you need to scan with the Blippar app. I've loaded the app on 4 devices and won once tonight on DH's iPad, you can enter once a day. I believe you should be going into a Maccy D's and scanning instore but this photo worked perfectly for me, although a bit grainy :)

"Use blippar (app) on this image and potentially win a £10 Amazon Voucher. It's an in-store McDonalds promotion but works with a photo as well so can be done remotely (ideal for those of us who are too lazy to go in-store). You will need a phone/tablet (with the app) + a screen to view the image. Thanks to Anon"

    Hi ilgd xx

Hello I have been reading through and give hugs to many who need and give hugs to those who don't- so in short everyone has hugs..
cjj - you stumbled at the hurdle last night but you got up brushed yourself down and survived to day albeit at work and then tears, but heyho you are keeping the tissue company in business - carry on girl and get over the hurdle tonight, try and rest and if you don't feel like eating u+g are a good alternative x
lejc- you too stumble at the hurdle but you land head first in the mud making everything dark and gloomy, but you are strong and you to get to the next hurdle, you get there its a struggle with all those muddy clothes but you do get over that hurdle and then clean yourself down. Christmas can be wonderful but if the truth been know it also can be the most painful time of the year for many....you cope, as snap would say, with a coat hanger smile :rotfl: that always makes me chuckle
How was the hestons dessert- I saw it in w the other day but didn't buy the meal deal.
Wendy- be brave try and tell work how it really is- easier said than done I know..but enough is enough.
Sarah- what an emotional time you have recently..phew! and a tough day today- did you get your tree up
Ive done enough rambling now- but I am concerned about the well being of all my elite friends and hoping all are as well as they can be - and welcome back ilgd.
There are many who are taking extra long coffee breaks and haven't popped in to say hello recently
Tweets, you've had it tough the last few weeks, but soon you will have a well earned break..how long 10 days ??
the temperature should improve over the next few days so all those with pain in their joints hopefully will improve, especially if the dampness goes.

I had a dreadful nights sleep too, but I know exactly why. Just been for my smear test, anything medical really makes me very nervous, no idea why apart from maybe going to the doctor's when I was a small child was used as a punishment by my parents (I know, but different times then). Even going to the opticians does it :(

    I'm the same E....white coat syndrome:o

On that note......and as I've taken up half the thread talking about my Christmas cakes:rotfl:
Just to let you know that I'm out in hives after eating too much fruitcake....there's lots of sulphites in dried fruit.......will my Christmas cake saga ever end?:rotfl:

Free mince pie with the greggs app. Thanks to hukd

Not just to help me collect flame deer, I'm now signed up to get Hukd notifications via wattsapp. They do a really good round up of deals. Also get 10 ways through via wattsapp too, just in case I miss them via email, twitter or FB. Not that I'm obsessive or anything :o

I've changed the alert for their notification, and that of 10 ways to Xylophone so I know when they come through :rotfl:

Ones on my picks was £2.55 less pyo
    I got £4.39 ones, less A £2.50 good will reduction to £1.89
Of course it means I can't claim gj on them now.

But I'll give it a go lol
Red onion Sausages that are on gj and on multi that are also on my picks should go through ok.

We had the sausages last night zippy and I was really disappointed. They were the black pepper ones. I did them in the oven and about a cupful of fat/water came out of them_pale__pale_
And the skins were so tough too. I won't buy them again.

Aren't we due some new offers in W soon.

A few Nectar ones end today too:)
