I was sat here thinking, well I didn't realise ssm had a grandchild and then very slowly the penny dropped!

Not sure I would have confessed to that one haha.

Zippy, as a few of us are going to waities on Friday I wondered if you have any insights for us. I still have pampers wipes and Aberdeen Angus mince in my basket , both appear to be on offer still but I can't remember now why they were so good.
Not wanting to gloat but as mhoc kindly pointed out the 10% card is valid until 27th so if anyone can make use of it on Friday I will have it with me :D

Hi Di it doesn t look like Nellie and I will be coming on Friday but hopefully another time soon :)

    Good Morning all :)
  • Good morning all, a bit damp out there this morning!

Morning Seren I do love crashing waves We had a second house at the coast for DD's family for a few years ago It was on the west coast and often had crashing waves Lovley memory, thanks

I remember a childhood trip to Seaford, there is a pub (or was) called The Bell on the seafront, we went in the middle of winter and the waves were crashing over the pub, it was a wonderful feeling, elemental :D
    Bath...:eek::eek:..I haven't had a bath for over a year....:rotfl::rotfl:

I can beat this, not had a bath for about 10 years
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
  • Spooky moment  They are just playing 24K Magic in the Air on the local radio station and the moment it started I had an email drop in with the self same title!!

this discussion about gift cards and vouchers has got me wondering as we all have a variety of them I am thinking this might be a wet afternoon job, to tip the handbag upside down and gather them altogether, make a list of what we have, the value, any numbers and then with the magnifying glass try to figure out the expiry dates.
Then put copies of this list (or even an excel chart) on the fridge door or notice board and in the notes section on your phone and at the back of the wallet so its less easy to ignore and let things go OOD
A bit of an aggravating job to start with but simple to update as when you use something up or aquire a new one you just update the chart.

Ive got Bella Italia gift cards, Pizza Hut gift cards, B&Q, marks gift cards and marks credit notes of various values.
Then there are things like your Boots points which I think only have a 2 year life span so its better to use them up on the everyday things rather than save for something massive. Superdrug send you an email if you have expiring points so you get a reminder.
Also your Tesco clubcard points only have 2 years life and these are very easy to forget as most of us only actually log onto our cc accounts to check balances a few times a year since Mr T went mean

A change in the law needs to be achieved for things to change...I tweeted HoF and they have just replied asking me to contact them...I sent another Email and also that I will continue to tweet to warn others...From research some 6.5 billion pounds is spent on GCs/Vouchers each year. Of those some 30% go unused. No wonder they have expiry dates. The free money they get is extreme... I await another response from HoF.. I won't give up trying... :rotfl::rotfl:

OMG, I'm rich! Silver in the hair, Gold in the teeff, Crystals in the Kidney, Sugar in the blood, Lead in the butt, Iron in the arteries and an inexhaustible supply of natural gas! I never thought I would accumulate such wealth!! :rotfl::rotfl:

You've got me worried now - I had no idea that Boots points had only 2 years validity ! Also the Daily mail points are apparent
Y only valid for a year so that's another one to be careful with.
