I think we need to start a list of mums with horrible ungrateful exasperating inconsiderate indifferent self centred self-obsssesed sons

Decades of our lives we put into bringing them up but for what ...

our eldest daughter is now lovely but i can never see us ever being at the same stage and having the same sort of adult relationship with the other two

    deep sigh
One list I'll not be on, but I feel your pain.
    D and only S is an :A
He will be here for me and his pops whenever and whatever we need him for, even if we don't know we need him.
He is all 'growed' up now with his own family, but I still remember, and feel the pain, of the daft, silly, thoughtless things he did years ago.

The poppies falling down at Festival of Remembrance is such a powerful image - it never loses its impact.

A suggestion - might be a long shot but it could be worth it.

On my Streetlife group almost daily someone is putting up messages asking if anyone can recommend a builder, plasterer, gardener, handyman, cleaner or whatever it is they need doing and they get loads of responses with suggestions.

Your area must also have a streetlife group so it is worth putting up an advert advertising his skills. If he put up a message to say he is a skilled (and qualified) bricklayer but also can tackle most other handyman jobs eg patios and give a list of the types of jobs he can turn his hand to. Also say he is available at short notice and can travel x number of miles locally. Maybe he can get photos or previous jobs to show as examples.
I am sure he would get plenty of small jobs to do, now the weather is turned loads of people will have things that need fixing or mending or tidying up before winter really starts
Thanks mhoc I'll have a look now x

Thanks mhoc I'm now registered and will tell her tomorrow :D

glad to be able to help.

Even though we are semi rural there seems to be a lot of people on streetlife in my area.
Some people use it like Freecycle to donate things they no longer need.
There is always a lost cat or a run away dog that needs looking out for so there is a lot of useful info on the ways and means of trying to find them
Also quite a bit of discussion about local planning issues which is a major cause of concern around here
People new to the area looking for suggestions for good vets, catteries, hairdressers, social groups etc
Or people asking for recommendations for plumbers, gardeners, odd job people, landscapers, roofers, cleaners, etc
also adverts for local church concerts, Christmas fayres and similar

You can set it to get a round up of the days postings and this comes in just after midnight

That's the way I think, everything happens for a reason and he certainly isn't work shy. If anything he may work a bit too quick, my boss wants his patio repointing and said he would pay him a day rate and said I think it will take him about a week. Dd bf said he'll have it done in two days :o
