I had an early appointment to give blood this morning
I just asked MG what I needed to do to help out with dinner and he said "go and lie down" I don't need to be told twice :rotfl:
I will have to give blood more often if it means I get told to rest up and get a full roast beef dinner cooked for me :rotfl:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Hello, hope everyone is OK.
Quite a few weeks since I was around due to Mum's fall.
She came home from the Care Home last week, but wasn't at all well. On Tuesday just got her to bed and was about to leave, when she started screaming my name over and over again, then where am I ? and what's happening to me ? It was so scary, but just tried to reassure her saying she was safe, in bed and I was with her.
Rang 111 and ambulance arrived in about 5 minutes. after an 8 hour wait to get seen in hospital she was admitted, with very low blood pressure dizziness and dehydration (can't get her to eat or drink much)
Investigating problems with her heart etc. She is aware of what happened and says she thought she was spinning in the air and was going to fall on me.
Now back to visiting twice a day, but on Friday got a phone call from hospital. Her bay of 4 patients had been put in isolation as 2 of them have Norovirus. No visiting allowed until they say. so only contact is by phone. So far Mum hasn't got it.
Oh Sue, sending positive thoughts to both you and your Mum.]0 -
diluvsdiscounts wrote: »I hope so but she's just rung me they think he may have got the stomach bug  I've messaged all my friends and there's a few jobs re pointing a patio etc to see him on until he finds something. Unfortunately the building trade goes quiet around now but he can turn his hand to most things so he should be ok DH is going to ask at his work tomorrow, fingers crossed he hasn't got the bug and has just got himself worked up.
You want to protect your kids from everything you can but unfortunately there's no protection from life.
Everything happens for a reason
A suggestion - might be a long shot but it could be worth it.
On my Streetlife group almost daily someone is putting up messages asking if anyone can recommend a builder, plasterer, gardener, handyman, cleaner or whatever it is they need doing and they get loads of responses with suggestions.
Your area must also have a streetlife group so it is worth putting up an advert advertising his skills. If he put up a message to say he is a skilled (and qualified) bricklayer but also can tackle most other handyman jobs eg patios and give a list of the types of jobs he can turn his hand to. Also say he is available at short notice and can travel x number of miles locally. Maybe he can get photos or previous jobs to show as examples.
I am sure he would get plenty of small jobs to do, now the weather is turned loads of people will have things that need fixing or mending or tidying up before winter really starts“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0
