I read somewhere that the homeless really need dry socks. Must be nothing worse for feeling the cold than damp socks. Don't really know how to donate. Not sure that answering one of the guys at the stations asking for change with a pair of socks would go down well.
Warm waterproof jackets, shoes and socks are always needed.100 -

Does anyone use the everyday gravy granules which are 20p in Tesco and Asda?
does it compare well to Bisto or similar?

I suppose you could put into one of these little lunch bags an u&g carton, socks, the mythical spare chocolate or maybe some home make cake wrapped in foil or whatever you have and just pop it down next to someone - at least they would know they were not invisible and they were in someones thoughts, even if it was just a random stranger
