Just quickly mhoc, the rules changed on the HRP (home responsibily protection, that's what you used to get instead of NI contributions while claiming family allowance) around the time DD3 hit 13, 2010, you used to get them until you no longer got family allowance but that is no longer the case. I stopped getting them around 2010/2011 which is why I am a year short. The rules may have even changed again as I don't think it's even called HRP anymore.
Now I am not sure if age 13 is still the trigger or whether mine stopped that year because the rules changed and actually you stop getting the credits when the child is younger. But in essence they are no longer credited for the whole time you get family allowance. Hope that helps. x
I think you used to get it until your youngest started college so you got it until the September after he/she was 19 and I think I might have missed out on the last year - this is another thing I need to check up on.
I suppose they think now your youngest reaches high school mums job is done and she can quite happily go back to work full time and juggle numerous things.
In reality when my gang were in their teens it was the hardest years ever, sheer slog every hour of every day complicated by educational and behavioural issues, an OH doing shifts and on calls and also I had my Dad to sort out at least a day a week as we lost mum when the youngest was 12.
But possibly despite everything they were the best family years so HMRC can keep the £20 a week they are penalising me for“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

The MSE article is just a heads-up for new mums so they don't get caught out unawares.
exactly, its very easy to get very vexed about it the total unfairness of it all“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Think I am in worse position than I thought from the old letter I found, I actually do need to get an up to date statement.

I also liked having bonds, it was so simple. When we sold my Dads house I opened various bonds of various lengths so he also had enough to pay his fees - not the dark ages, only about 6 years ago
There are still monthly savers paying good enough rates, they just need a little bit of organisation to start off. Most of them last a year and you then start again.I've not read right back yet, been watching Wildlife programmes, Gold hunting programmes and a film.
We've had half a day of rain, but as I was NSD today it didn't matter anyway.
DH and I need to be looking for somewhere to put our savings. We've both got. Santander 123 account and a joint Santander 123. A few months ago we opened accounts at TSB , one each and one joint. Of course the amount you can hold as a maximum isn't very high in TSB, unlike Santander., which we had the max in. It just seems that everywhere is the same, offering a pittance for your £££s. I used to like the Bonds, lock the money away for 6 months, a year or two years which ever gave the better interest.
Hope everyone is well and happy
Sarah I that son of yours has been better today ((hugs))“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

Do I need to keep the promotional code/pack?
You will need to keep the promotional pack/code as it allows you to obtain your allocated teams and play the game, and may be needed in the event of a claim. Your code is your entry into the competition.
otherwise peeps would be just photoing the codes in store
ill let you know if pack is really needed.
Just checked my scores too, and have a winner:j:beer:
Wish they would hurry up and put the scores on the site so I can try and claim. Just changed 'my team' to a more popular team in the hope that I get the tenner instead of the tickets.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Its somewhere on the HMRC website, 10 ways put up a link a few weeks ago.
You have to register with your NI number but then once you get onto the page it gives you a breakdown of every year and whether you paid enough NI that year or not
It also gives you your official state retirement date and what you are due to get
Its on my To Do list, to write to them officially as there are a few years I want to argue my case about although I know it wont do any good whatsoever.

Regarding the posts about nectar point movement overnight
My points went up by about 350
I've tracked it to both mine and the wife's accounts being given bonus amounts today for transactions dating back to 15 October. One was exactly 150, the other just shy of 200
I'm guessing the 150 was for "10 bonus points on the next 5 shops plus 100 on your 6th" and the other was for "double points on your next X shops". We always seem to get variations of these 2 offers
If you check your accounts on the website and scroll back to about 15 October you should find something processed today. Just ignore all the obvious swipe/win bonus amounts that will be showingApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
