I did have my mind set on a huge chest freezer but with my hands being really bad at the moment, it's made me rethink with the thought of sorting through one to find things in the cold.
It has to be one suitable for the garage and I knew Beko guarantee for outhouses but I didn't realise that is for their uprights as well as chest freezers. Have found one 250l which I think will probably be big enough and I could if I really wanted to keep the small old chest freezer out there as a new upright would just take the footprint of the counter freezer that came from indoors. That is the one that has ice growing out the back.
I know cold air falls so wonder if chest freezers are more economical overall, trouble is you end up leaving them open for longer too I guess finding things, so even if more cold air escapes from an upright at least the door is open for less if you can locate things a bit easier. Am I thinking on the right lines...
Yes and no. I have mine quite well organised, veg is on top of the motor (mine has a divider that slips in there), meat is to the left, fruit at the bottom, pizzas are upright at the side etc etc. I have three racks in mine that makes it easy to make sure I know where small things are too. But I used to spend ages trying to find stuff in my old upright too, especially when OH tried to find something :eek:What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
I have been thinking I might end up falling in trying to reach the bottom. :rotfl: Mr TS got to the bottom last week when he did his inventory. He found things I had forgotten about, there has been a block of Cathedral city in it that came from my mum's.
Space isn't a problem though as it's going in garage.
If I get a big chest freezer I would just get rid of both freezers that are out there at the moment so same area will be taken up overall.
Can you not have them all... but just plug them in when you need them!!:D:D:D:D:D

My Boots Value is currently being trialled in certain stores. Maybe it's old news but I've just stumbled across this post. Thanks to BedtimebearBedtimebear wrote: »Grab yourself a bargain if you have a boots card, 80p for 6 Johnson's products. First you need to load 10% discount on Johnsons to your boots card boots.com/mybootsvalue. Next go to love caring print Johnson's vouchers. Then go to boots buy products the match vouchers that are £2 for 2 300mle, they will discount to £1.79.each, then for every two you buy use they deduct 1.98, they -£1 voucher.
This is obviously an old offer (posted May '16) but you may be just happy with the 10% discount on your 5 brands. Can't wait to see if they roll it out across the UK:happylove Nanny to 2 Cherubs :happylove0 -

Yes, I tend to concentrate on the higher value items, meats, fish etc and laundry, coffee.

That might be why I find our chest freezer a bit difficult because it has no racks or baskets. I do like that I can stack takeaway pots on the shelf at the back, I guess over the motor. Fruit and veg from the garden go in them and when Mr TS has made a huge pot of something it gets split into portions.
It's the bit at the front that gets messed up I organise it similar to you and DD goes to get say some icecream out but doesn't put everything else back where it came from so it all gets muddled. :eek:0 -
You have aged, in your younger days you used to call it a !!!!!!.
