I don't know who pointed out the Virgin money thing but I am so grateful. (Was it you, RedFox? I've searched but can't find it.) In case anyone else doesn't know, if you have a Virgin money a/c, you get 10% off some Virgin advance tickets. I've just booked for next month and saved myself a packet so am very grateful.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Thanks for the thought, Dave. Very sadly I am not eligible for a railcard for a couple of years yet and my new NUS card doesn't work on the youth one as you have to be full time.
And I wouldn't be surprised if the 10% works on tickets with railcards too. Must test it when Mum next comes.0 -
DOH!! Just checked MSM and A have UP & GO on offer at 5 (250ml) for £4.00, Mr T online shows £1.39 each.
NOT SEEN ANY ON MY MR T THOUGH.
I did buy the 330ml and voucher went through for £1.79 without a prompt.
Sooo…. Theoretically buy 5 of 3 different types of UP & GO (250ml) in Mr T costing (5 x £1.39) £6.95. 5 MOCs @ £1.79 each = £8.95. BM for (5 x 59p) £2.95. spend £6.95 less (£8.95 + £2.95) £11.90 = £4.95 PROFIT.

5 mixed cans at 5 for £3.00 with 5 30p MOCs, BM to A £0.50 = Net cost £2.00 for 5 cans.
COMBINE with UP & GO still £2.95 PROFIT
Ice Cream in Mr T £3.50 each or 3 for £5.00 if my memory serves… Buy 3, use 3 £1 vouchers, deal valid until 14/11, MOC vailid until 9/11
STILL 95p in PROFIT
Buy some everyday stuff that is NOT branded, so will not BM compare for say £5.00 and only pay £4.05 for :
5 breakfast drinks
5 soups
3 x 500ml Ice Cream ( I like the vanilla, so hands off LOL)
£5.00 of other stuff, Total initial cost at T £19.95 down to £4.05
*******NEEDS TO BE CONFIRMED AND STOCK CHECKED IN YOUR LOCALS******
PPS Can someone check my calculations please.

Hi TS
If you travel with another person there is something called Two Together (I think). Or if you are deaf or have some other qualifying disability, there is a disability railcard which also gives discounts if there is someone travelling with you. Other than that, I don't know. I think one of the southern areas used to have a railcard which anyone could buy but I don't know.0 -
Sorry, quick update... Up & Go reduced in T's to £1.00 from tomorrow, but net effect the same £4.95 profit:
buy 5 of 3 different types of UP & GO (250ml) in Mr T costing (5 x £1.00) £5.00. 5 MOCs @ £1.79 each = £8.95. BM for (5 x 20p) £1.00. spend £5.00 less (£8.95 + £1.00) £9.95 = £4.95 PROFIT.0
