Westie might know
This is a tricky one and depends on a lot of variables that I don't know about you. But a gut feeling, for someone trying to lose weight i'd avoid smoothies, for a number of reasons:
It's quite easy to chug back a lot of calories without realising esp if using fruit. Lot of sugar which is not very good.
For some, it doesn't have the satiety and you can end up feeling hungry.
Yes, protein is good for weight loss but tbh in the powdered form is not the best way to have it. Real food wins hands down unless your lifting weights / high activity level and need protein into the body quickly/ and need an easy way to get calories in/ trying to hit macros
Drinking a smoothie the body has less work to do to process the food = less calories burned. Food has a thermo effect, that is the calories needed to digest and process food depending on the macronutrient. Protein is top of that list at 20-35%
Carbohydrates: 5-15%
Fats: 0-5%
So if you eat 200 cals of protein, the body is going to use between 40 and 70 of them just to for digestion (:D)
If your busy, constantly on the go and don't have time to prepare a meal then smoothie may be an option. In that case i'd keep it simple milk/ avocado/ half banana/ cocoa powder (optional) / chia seeds.
Edit: I'd use a smoothie as a meal replacement, not an additional meal.
Protein is important and should be included with every meal, helps us ladies as we get older keep our muscle mass which keeps our metabolism burning high. Whenever we are in a deficit, the body will get rid of muscle first because it is a liability, years of constant dieting can lead to the "skinny fat" look and a slow metabolism.Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

Just had an email from Lookfantastic. They are asking if I found what I was looking for and have sent me a link to that hoof stick thing:rotfl:
How can that be? I never even searched for it on the website.

Has anyone signed up to HSBC and had the application go through online straight away? Their application system suggests some do as has two stages after the one I was kicked off the system.
I applied last year, it was referred and I gave up (they gave me the cashback due to a complaint). I applied today, it has again been referred . You can bet this will now involve having to go into branch, which is at least a two hour round trip.
It should be worth the effort with £200 for applying (ends today by midnght) but it really annoys me - they also ask the most intrusive questions of any application process.
No issues applying anywhere else.

I actually haven't got a stash of anything to give the trick or treaters this year. Well few Liz Shaw Amarettos but think that would be mean.
In the past I have had gllitchy Smarties, Haribos Halloween sweets that went penny a bag got so many they did the 2 years after, have used the 10p sweet fillers (but APG hardly now), Twix from Amazon, 1p Liz Shaw crackers. But all those glitchy things have been lacking this year don't think I have missed anything.
But this year the only thing I have a few of are Cadbury Dinos and Animals that were 50p bag earlier this year in As but don't think there is enough packs to go around the kids we get here.
Anyone got any ideas please before tomorrow night...was thinking maybe Home Bargains or B&Ms.
I have got lots of salty popcorn from Approved Foods maybe I could do little bags of it but I think it's an acquired taste, I like it but not sure if kids will.
I got some big bags of toffees from Lidl. About 7 different types in the bag. Have cello wrapped with ribbon & they do lo K good xxCherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.
No matter how you feel, get up, dress up & never give up.0 -
