My chip shop does fish strips - strips of battered cod for £1 each so these are great if you cant manage an entire fish - so 2 strips and chips enough to share for £3.50 - it stops the longing for full scale fish and chips and keeps it within budget
Aldi do the most diving carrot cake for about £1.80 so whenever I fancy coffee shop coffee and cake when we are out and about if we can go via Aldi and get one of these instead then again, its money savings and enough cake for 4 portionsFinally got round to updating my frocking total.
Most of my adds I'm afraid are from comfort eating as have been having a bit of autumn blues like Naebirrac. So have added £3 for my visit to the cafe for tea and cake last week. Then spent £4.10 on cakes for the weekend from M&S and I probably ate the majority. I craved fish and chips and it's not the same doing yourself but me and Mr TS shared a portion just upgraded the cod to large and added curry sauce/mushy peas, £8.90. Think I did well to get 3 weeks in to the challenge without any before then to be honest. :rotfl: Meal out in town for me £8.65 as was on my own one day, DD3 is at DD1s for the week and Mr TS was working in London couldn't cope with staring at the walls until 11pm.
Then £20 Noah's ark, £13.02 wine to check out how the sparks discounts worked, plus couple whoopsied aubergines. Will be using the wine for presents as they are fair trade ones.
And the only thing that was a necessity was my £2 loo rolls from SD along with 11p for 3 if those 37p RTC face washes as they had restocked, I used £1 worth of points to bring the cost down.
I cannot say I have done well except for keeping away from the supermarkets. I think I would have spent more if had gone to tesco or Asda rather than M&S for my cake, as I would have bought other bits and pieces.
Mr TS has embraced frocking at the thought of emptying one of the freezers, he has been out and done something I was putting off and written a full inventory.
So I think for me now the month is nearly over and I have a more realistic idea of a total. I'm going to carry on in November and try and keep spending to around the £200 mark. When I think what I have bought that is included for this month I haven't done bad.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. for once I am in the country during these dates - usually I've got a few days at the end or start of the promotion - mind you that could change yet ....“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Where you getting posh socks from? XxxTo get to Disneyland Florida 20160 -
I got my 2 at 11.31 from a small Marks food store with ss machines
2 wines
2 sets of potato croquettes - in the freezer
2 sets of chicken and red wine - one frozen and one for tonight
2 sets of welsh rarebit
The wine was not with the fridge selection needless to say and so we had a look on the wine section (and it took 2 attempts as I got side tracked by the rose which it isn't)
barcode is 0499583s
green cap and not the pink ones
catarratto pinot grigio terre siciliane bianco vino frizzante
OH was quite impressed by it but then I showed him the little tapas dishes the rarebits are in and then he was really impressed :j
Mind you I wish I'd found my £5 marks e card in my bag in store rather than when we got home
Think you might have been lucky with your timing mhoc, glitch has been expired on HUKD with lots of people buying the right wine. From the comments looks like they might have removed it from the meal deal. Someone said it worked for them yesterday but not today think that was on the main dine in thread not the glitch one there are comments on both.
Still takes temptation away from me.0 -

I have managed to get some shops down to about £5, the Zipster gets them to pennies!0 -

So is that like a big fish finger? My local doesn't do anything like that, there is a chippy that does a Thursday lunch time deal cod and chips for £2, don't know how they afford to do it, the chips are not so good but it does fill that longing occasionally.
I really had a craving for some cakes my mum used to buy in M&S, the blackcurrant sundaes and coffee swiss roll, I don't think anything else would have quite hit the spot. But agree Aldi and Lidl do some really nice cakes, I have bought them before.
I think this frocking has made me realise some of my weaknesses. So it hasn't been a failure I have learnt something. :cool:0 -
annoyed now that my T didn't have them in stock yesterday - I was doing a Hipp, soup and chicken breast shop - I was going to do some returns today so I could do another Mr !!!!!! shop but ran out of time ....

Yes, its like a big grown up fish finger, just a strip of cod dipped in the batter bucket and fried and they fry them to order so its all very fresh and you see it happening - its the only shop I've seen selling fish strips
I have 2 and share them with various catsSo is that like a big fish finger? My local doesn't do anything like that, there is a chippy that does a Thursday lunch time deal cod and chips for £2, don't know how they afford to do it, the chips are not so good but it does fill that longing occasionally.
