Over the years we have had several attempts at long life milk but without much success.....I remember as a child growing up my parents using "5 pints" and I think thats where the whole milk issue stems from.....
I have used "just milk" when it has been free with coupons but I am I'm afraid a semi skimmed darling through and through!

Same with bread, for me it just doesn't freeze...which I know lots on here will disagree with but to me it's best eaten within the standard use by date.

It's a misty day here today and I'm wrestling with the idea of the heating, but it probably isn't cold enough yet and we are out this evening so the heating will stay off for at least one more day.
On the back of frugal October we are also trying to reign in the gas/electric spend....that's OH's domain and he reliably tells me that loop says we are well under budget.
We did however have the first coal fire of the season on Saturday...with a glass of wine and a president cheese.....simple pleasures.
frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

  • I dread to think what a bag of house coal costs now, but a coal fire is worth every penny.

I have used £10 of gas in October so far, that's heating and hot water and standing charge, so not bad at all.

Could do with a more efficient electric cooker, but have yet to see one I like as I really don't like glass oven doors, the convenience of being able to see what's going on is outweighed by the constant cleaning, but it seems to have become the standard design. Same with mixer taps, by the time you fiddle to get the temp you want, you might as well have run two taps and be done with it.

Morning all - dreadful To Do list so just wizzing in and out this morning

Has anyone any suggestions where I might be these cheaper than £8 - I know that there is 20% off when you join and maybe TCB as well but I need 7 or 8 so it could do with being even cheaper

    Glass Dome 23 x 15 cm

    thanks in advance :T

I'm guessing you are on the hunt for these in connection with table decorations for the upcoming nuptials.....
My niece had something similar going on when she got married and also looked on floristry wholesale websites for hers....they sometimes come in a little cheaper but more and more you need to have a trade card to buy....having said that if you have a connection with a local florist or the guts to just go in and ask then they may be able to source something especially if the flowers are being ordered from the same said florist!!!!!

other than that hobby craft probably would be the best in terms of price and quality....and they can always be handed out to special family members as a lovely reminder of the day afterwards....we have one from said nieces wedding that now displays a treasured family photo.
