Well I have had the most disgusting job of cleaning out the black refuse bin today.

Mr TS's work shop is a right state so he couldn't locate the garden hose to make the job easier and her said anyway he didn't have the right fitting for the new outside tap. So I have had to do it with buckets and buckets of water, and having pretty short arms even almost get in it at one point. :o

Embarrassingly it hasn't been cleaned for years but last couple has been totally abused with first emptying old garage before new one was built and then getting the kitchen done I'm not sure what has been put in there. It was bin day today and after it was empty I went to put some rubbish out and it absolutely stank. I don't usually get to see the bottom of it and I was shocked at how thick the dirt was in the bottom. I gave it a good soak with about five buckets of water and disinfectant to start but I have had to chip away at it to get it all out it was that bad. :o

Mr TS always used to clean the bins out when we lived in a flat and then there was a van that came round here years ago after the bins were emptied and pressure washed them. Think we stopped that because we couldn't afford it when the girls were young. Mr TS stopped doing it as he says as soon as you clean them they are dirty again. Trouble is having never seen a bin cleaned out before the girls thought I was mad lady today. :rotfl:

An Englishman, Scotsman and Irishman at the bar. Usually there's a Welshman there too, but he's still in France!

Do they have Uber in Southampton? If you don't already have an account there's often codes for free credit floating around. Might make that taxi to the port free as well then :D

I just did an estimate and it works out at about £14 for an uber from that hotel to the cruise terminal

this hotel seems to have a shuttle to the port - possibly you can pay for this separately at the hotel
