    Good morning all...

It's a NSD for me today...we can manage on what we have.

Does my OH embrace this....yeah I think he's really trying!
It is his turn to buy milk at work this week, but as it's shared between 6 others that I don't have contact with,I'm allowing him that...

He has counter whammied me a little by declaring that this month we will also see if we can keep within the loop gas and electricity budget...last month we just managed it but again in previous months with DS being home it spiralled out of control a little!

So I guess its a case of he'll play my game if I play his....we really do need to focus on some areas of the household budgeting moving forward and at least it is making us think.

Someone drove into my car yesterday whilst it was parked, not huge amounts of damage but in terms of repair I think it will turn out costly as they have managed to hit the bumper which is a huge moulded piece of plastic and scrape all down a wheel arch too.
Thankfully they left a note, which I am so grateful for and does prove there are still some around that accept responsibility even though they could have easily driven away.

Xfactor..I'm seriously getting old....Robbie Williams with grey hair...just how did that happen....I remember him as a 16 year old!....we went to a take that concert on their very first "tour"...a very intimate venue at a sports centre and only about 200 people turned up...brilliant time.probably 23 years ago...we never imagined then that they would end up where they did!
And Louis and Sharon are clearly having a bet on who's act stays the longest.....

re Sainsburys Tu - I had a look on Sunday and my giant store had the usual aisle full of sale items.
but on the next aisle though the girls were putting together entire rows of items now half price, all the winters things that they had in new at the start of September.
so if anyone bought full price items the other weekend to get the 25% off, getting their winter wardrobe together, if you still have the receipt and everything has its swing tag then it might be worth checking Sainsburys again to see if you can find the same item again with 50% off this time :D
I wonder if another 25% off weekend is in the offing?
There is a mustard shift dress I've been contemplating but even at £11 instead of £22 I am still not convinced mainly because the colour is so striking and also it's not lined so there would be no warmth in it. It would look fab over black wooly tights and leggings and long boots but not much scope for variety - black/brown/navy thin jumper/polo/long sleeved tshirt underneath and same cardi/knitted jacket on top.
a 25% off sale might help though

when I went through the till I got 3 till spits between the cards, triple points and an extra pointer for Tu clothing and a petrol till spit for tu clothing - previously by going. through SS I've had no issues in till spit combining - just got to figure out how to spend £30 now :D

    Morning folks!

Definite chill in the air this morning and the stars were still twinkling when I went on my walk. It's amazing how many less stars you can see down here :(

I have little faith in hg's OH - goodies galore :D
Will update when he gets home

Thanks for this juju....and anyone else who's bringing info on coupons over.

It's a pasta tea this evening...I've some barilla dried filled three cheese tortellini that was rtc from £1.69 to 17p a few weeks ago...and am going to make a homemade cheese sauce to go with it.

Where I think we might "fall down" with the challenge is with puddings/desserts....somewhere along the line years ago we started having them daily and they can range from something full blown to something quite basic like a biscuit or chocolate with a cup of tea after our evening meal....I am struggling to see how they will fit within budget...or if they do they may end up far more repetitive....with less of the nice varieties and more of a biscuit.
It also already feels like a lot more planning needs to go into eating when your budget is tighter.

At least mine might well fit better after all this....I'm also wondering if there will be a benefit on the waistline after the month is up.....
