    Morning all

There is an awful lot of giddiness on the Elite - all this eating out and loitering in pubs drinking pints and cavorting about at all hours of the day and night :rotfl:

Which reminds me if you converted any of your nectar point stash into Pizza Express meal tokens today is the last day to use them so find your Pizza Express and make a booking.

I only converted enough for 4 - being away in August and having a weekend in September meant I didn't need as many as in 2015. I've a niggly feeling I have one left over, not that it matters anyway - hell would freeze over before I would get a call this morning from OH "right work is driving me bats, I am taking a POETs day where are we going ...." :rotfl:

Can you not check the app? (In the voucher codes section of your wallet?)

also spotted this, read but don't apply before the weekend

    http://www.headforpoints.com/2016/09/30/40000-free-nectar-points-american-express-nectar-credit-card/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=40000-free-nectar-points-american-express-nectar-credit-card

new sign up bonus for getting the Nectar amex card of 40,000 Nectar points.
The snag is that you need to spend £2000 in the next 3 months :(

I suppose though if you use just this card only to pay for everything instead of your regular CC then its possible especially with Christmas looming.
We really need to replace the cooker before Christmas so that's our biggest expense and then there is the normal stuff like the cattery bill and coal bill and our builder is coming in November so there will be things he needs which all bump the CC bills up.

Its fee free in year one and you can then cancel it. When you look at your online bills at the bottom is a section called Amex rewards and randomly you get offers to opt into. Possibly in your year of having a card you might get some of these - I've had ones like spend £10 at Superdrug and get £2 back, spend £x in the post office and bigger ones like spend £250 on Hilton hotels get £50 back and I've got a Eurostar one on mine at the mo - as soon as you have used your card then an email appears in your account to say you have redeemed your offer
I also had spend £50 in Pizza Express get £10 back so I bought 5 £10 pizza express gift cards in a restaurant so these pay for drinks and extras when we eat out.

There is also the shop local promotion which starts in October.

If I get one it will be for OH. I've had one for years so mine is fee free as its a historic card and I just use mine in Sainsburys and places I can get extra nectar points like BP, Argos, Homebase etc

sadly no the app does not say which ones you have used

I did a copy and paste of the 4 codes onto a word document and then printed it off. My intension was to cut one code out each time and also delete that code email from my emails - you would have thought such a simple system would work very easily esp with just 4 codes to mind but it went tragically wrong ...

I lost the word document and had to do it again and I forgot to delete the emails and the assistants kindly gave me back my print offs...:D

Also what has confused me was that while the promotion was on I got some codes converted actually in Sainsburys and only on the very last day I got the final 4 - I know we have been to Stafford twice, Birmingham, possibly Chester, Liverpool and York - York and Liverpool I def used codes and recently and I think they might be on the receipts so I can check that but otherwise its all a blurr
Its been a very long summer with numerous short and long term visitors ...

Why starting to saven1st time with 1st direct. I've opened a new regular saver every year for at least 6 years.

I was very late to the party, I think this is only my 2nd year with First Direct - my switching bonus never went in and I only realised a month or so later so I rang them to check and it was added the same day

    Good morning all...

Thanks to scamps for answering the query over the burger meals with sol....

we now have 2 so that will be used probably one evening next week and help towards frugal Oct.

I bought the strange flavour walkers crisps but I might have the other multi pack varieties to Tiny.....sausage and brown sauce ...yuck....ham and mustard...a little sweet but ok....and the salad cream ones...I'm strangely addicted in a weird way!!!!

My new fridge freezer is horrid....it makes far too much noise,is supposedly the same size as the other one in capacity but looks like a short fat squashed version of the old one it's missing a good few inches in height...and I'm not impressed with its fixtures and fittings.....very basic and thin plastic.
Oh well as I said a fridge is a fridge but I might try and palm it off to one of the rentals and take more care over choosing something for me.

off to T in while to fill it with the basics....just enough to get us started with the challenge.

    Have a great day all
