Evening all! Time for another choon before the working week starts
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsRMoWYGLNA :beer:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
The M list update from Friday is now complete:). There are some very good RTC items across M at the moment, various accessories etc. I won't bother to mention them as they're on the list. So, have a look at the information buried in bold on there! I noticed that, of course, none of these good items were mentioned on the tannoy in M - instead they were mentioning things like some alcohol bottles at 4 for £6:eek:. Given that some of them go down to £1, no thank you! However, none of the RTC items are in every store. So, I think you won't find all of them and you may have none at all in your M. However, worth a look just in case. As I see it, there are several options. They may have gone from your M:(. Or they may be there:). Or they may not be there at the moment but may be about to arrive soon:). Or they may have gone from your M:( but may appear again there later:). In short, you may find them. Or you may not:rotfl:.
I'll leave you to familiarise yourself with the items on Monday, before I change it all again. I will try to do a clear-out of some items at the end of the coming week if I get to it, to cut down the list and remove those haven't seen in any store for ages. So, I will be moving all the items that are in your M to the lost list whilst I leave items that you don't have on the main list due to me only being elsewhere:rotfl:.
They will be things like the Pro Chef Steel Colanders now - I'm just not seeing them anywhere (which probably means someone has them, absolute months on!) - these nearly got removed from the list several months ago and then, all of a sudden, months after finding them, I found an offer label suddenly appear in one of my stores but no stock there now, suggesting they had recently had them and thus ensuring the items have continued to be on the list to this day. Probably not in any M now:rotfl:. Also, the Duni Tablecovers at 50p - are they gone? Again, I was about to move those months ago but came across indication of them again so have kept them there. I've now not had anything for quite a while, and new stores have revealed any of them.
However, things can suddenly reappear even a year or more later. I never know when things are gone - and often they just keep coming back so I leave them permanently on the list as they are bound to be always somewhere in the interim of me losing them and then getting them back. Note I have the Chicago Pepperoni Melt back on the list again:rotfl: - that's disappeared on me on about four separate occasions, only to find something or something that points to them months later, and been removed from the list on at least three occasions (one when the APG actually found them) before putting them back. I'm on and off and on and off on things - although hopefully more consistency nowadays as I just refuse to remove anything always believing (most probably rightly) that M has them somewhere.
It's for you to use your savvy skills for what remains of today and through Monday to work out which bold items are really good and which are not:rotfl:. Best of luck finding them:).0 -
I had a moment of excitement(!) earlier when I found a Glade Air Freshener that msm doesn't have for M. Not very good so ignore it anyway:rotfl::cool:. On Wednesday, I had just the two versions that are on msm for M - but 'everywhere else' on msm has three. I saw that A therefore has three but I had only two for M and wondered whether the remaining one was in fact available in M. Well, yes indeed, it is:j.
I think I'm incomplete on the Heinz Beanz Slices though. I have found the Heinz Beanz with Cheese in M (I only need one store out of my 19 to have any trace for me). However, do M have Heinz Beanz Slice with Pork Sausages? I have failed to find any indication of those but, if I were a betting person, I would put my money on them doing so. Someone can tell me that indeed they have that in their M (which I haven't visited) and that it's £1?
Meanwhile, M do indeed have the Ambi Pur Plug In Refill - Blossom & Breeze that I wondered about earlier but sadly it is £4 and not £2. I didn't have to look for it very much this time - as it happened to be in the first store I visited on Friday! So, what I suspect they have, without evidence before, they do and it was a justified hunch that turned into a successful find - although unfortunately it turns out this one, which they do have, is currently full price:(.
I have not found the Border Biscuits Yogurt & Cranberry however and therefore I am now thinking that they do not have this version. After complete failure in nineteen stores, I now think this is a search for a product that does not exist in M - and of course if that is so, I will never find them! I am here to be corrected though by someone that finds them straight in their M, even though currently I am thinking they most likely don't have them. (Nonetheless, it's still possible that even nearly 20 Ms could have this one missing from their range and that they are in Ms I haven't visited. There was some wine that I failed to find recently and thought it likely that M didn't have - although I had not been through as many stores - only to find that it was on msm for M. So, it's certainly possible for several stores - and I've visited only those - to all not have the same one and only to have other flavours, at a particular time I visited, or only some of the other flavours and not the one I'm therefore missing that M has elsewhere. The Border Biscuits version is not on msm - the reason I found the wine only after was because I started out at the stores of the day, was starting to tend towards reaching the conclusion that they probably didn't have it only to find they clearly did have it as it was online.)
It's possible all the stores I've visited have Border Yogurt & Cranberry absent, although I'm thinking - indeed such as situation would cause me to think that M doesn't have this one. Or it may, rightly, be that M really doesn't have it and that therefore my inevitable failure to find it means I think what is indeed the case - namely they don't have it. I don't think they have Border Yogurt & Cranberry Biscuits although it's a possibility that they do (until everyone in total goes through every one of M's 500+ stores with a proper search that fails to find them and then there is no possibility at all left:rotfl:). The thing was different on the Broiche Croissants though - despite me having no evidence of their continued existence earlier in the week, I thought M would still have them:rotfl:.
I failed to find any indication of them on Monday or Wednesday (eight stores of no trace!). Actually technically I just had a £1.72 SEL and no stock at all but I wasn't going to take that answer. Given my difficulties, I couldn't do anything else but remove them from the list and, when doing that, I said I was probably in error doing as I bet they'll still be £1 somewhere.
Well, indeed, I was right - both that it was erroneous to remove them and I can confirm that M had them available for sale at £1 on Friday!:D I suspect these would have been very good this weekend for a TBG fail, given that I had nothing (or indeed an incorrect price) from using twice as many stores. I doubt they'd be able to find them when M has apparently gone OOS/indeed no trace to such an extent.
On Friday, I got £1 SELs but no stock in two of the nine stores. On that basis, had I had just those two stores - or one of them - and then stopped at that point, I would have a "keep the price on for another seven days as OOS". TBG should therefore compare if they have this situation in one of their stores and nothing elsewhere - but I suspect they'll have nothing in all three of their stores.
However, I did find stock:D. Just one unit in a store where there was no SEL and I can therefore confirm they are £1. The stock was BB tomorrow's date - so it might be that M hasn't had any new stock in its stores but old stock is still around in a minority of stores now.
Again, what this tells us is all about layout and promotion. Remember I had the Aunt Bessie Roast Potatoes - months, months later - eventually finding them again - and it took me a long time to do so - in a single store that happened to have them on the bottom shelf and with no RTC label or any prominence to them. They had gone from everywhere else for me by that stage. (I now find it hard to believe they are still in M somewhere as I think movements in freezers across M, that took place over two weeks last Spring, will have upset that situation. Nonetheless, they were on and off the list on four separate occasions, the final one after just so so long of not seeing them - only for them, eventually, to turn up in the one store long after they've gone from seemingly everywhere else and I think purely because of where they happened to be located.)
I think a similar situation explains these Croissants. What this speaks volumes about is marketing, promotion and layout affecting, if not even sometimes determining, what people buy. It's very interesting from one POV and, if we know about this and are aware of it and the effects that supermarkets try to create to try to get us to purchase something, we can really save money. Aware of their tactics and how they try to get us to pick up that £1 offer item (at still expensive price - or maybe now at an increased price:rotfl: (sometimes they go up to go onto £1!)) by having it on the aisle end, if we think about it and why it is there, we can avoid falling for it:money:.
I think the reason the Croissants have disappeared from so many stores (or at least from my stores for me) is that - apart from the 4 pack Brioche that, rightly, no-one's interested in, all the other Brioche products happened to go up to full price (£1.70-odd), thus leaving, unusually perhaps, these Croissants as the only Brioche Pasquier item (apart from the 4 pack that rightly gets ignored) on £1 in M at the moment, so people have been buying more of just that one. Hence why (maybe) it's gone OOS in lots of stores (albeit I've only done a very small sample in the context of M overall) and then SELs taken away as a result in most of them - so many of them (all of those earlier in the week for me, except the one that kept an incorrect SEL up in place) have gone no trace and the occasional ones now (two of which I found on Friday) have still got the SEL up (£1.00) but put up temporarily OOS as they have not being getting new stock in. The only M I found that had the physical stock was one where there happened to be no SEL for the Croissants so that, in that store, the product (and presumably a lot of the other Brioches at £1.72) was left unbought. It does - it speaks absolute volumes about layout and promotion and about how people generally are extremely influenced by it and very likely to fall for marketing tricks that see them not saving money.
Or these explanations about the Roast Potatoes earlier and now the Croissants could just be me thinking up something that fits:rotfl:. I do suspect though that that is the reason why the Croissants were still in stock in just the one store for me - and I think quite unlikely that TBG would have had them this week just gone and quite likely that they would have gone complete no trace in their three Ms.
There was also the other one several months ago: how one store had just one particular version of Princes Mackerel fillets tins still around, because that one happened to be located behind a pillar in the store! Purely that haphazard reason why I had the product in any of my Ms at all at that time. I am now getting to the stage of thinking the Princes will have gone - unless somehow there is a small unit of stock at the very back of a store's RTC shelf somewhere that has remained there for months - in a rare store indeed - in fact, I can envisage that being precisely the case and I bet there is! - generally though they are gone from M, although some Pink Salmon seemed to appear for a day or so in one of my stores recently but has not been heard of since - again, without that sudden one-day appearance of a SEL, many months after the RTC, I would have been likely to remove them long ago. I have lost all of them for a long time now and lost the last stock of some Mackerel Fillets some months ago from a store where they had lingered on for me for a while without a SEL.
In fact, I've just found the individual packs of Snack a Jacks Salt & Vinegar again - indeed they'd been moved to a store's RTC shelf where people were less likely to see them if visiting only the crisps and snacks aisle - and I had added them back onto the list. I've taken them off the lost list, as they are no longer. Then I noticed that I already had them on the main list as well, so I was right to keep them there for eternity:D (always right:o:o, or at least not often wrong) and I think I kept them on the main list in addition to putting them on lost (which was wrong:rotfl:) because [Strike]I was hedging my bets[/Strike] I still had a strong enough thought that they would still be in some M. Indeed I was right. I bet the Crosse & Blackwell soups are somewhere on an RTC shelf (they've been removed from the RTC of one of mine and now (but maybe merely currently?) totally gone for me but merely that I don't have a strong enough thought that they are still around when, really, they are? So, they're on lost when they should be on both:rotfl:. Or maybe I should just visit the right store:o:o:p and then I would have them on the main list and nobody else elsewhere could find them:rotfl:).
Alright, I'll see you later:wave: (Whether I find the Croissants or not tomorrow, I will leave them on the list as M is bound to have stock of these £1 Croissants with expiry date of 12 September tomorrow, in some rare store that, for whatever reason, such as a missing SEL, which a small percentage of stores, by the law of chance, will happen to have, did not sell all of its stock earlier. Or they may restock in M with new stock tomorrow and me then see them:rotfl:.)0 -

Good morning all, the sun has got his hat onPlenty of blackberries are now out in the hedgerows near us - the bushes are evil though, you could swear they move in for the kill when you reach for their berries
