4 pack Cornettos are 2 for £1.50. So 50p for 2 boxes after MOCs

I'm pleased to say they were accepted after a short, hushed conversation between SA and SV :j

    I got 8 boxes for £2 :money:

Eta. The 400g mayo is also just £1.12 in waities
if you got a mayo. What's the ubd please

Was half way to Stafford by then. :D

Quick :hello: to mhoc if she is quick she might spot me in Wetherspoons. ;) before I head back out on the road. :sighs:

Have had a quick tour of the hospital as hoped to eat there quick but we were too late for breakfast by time cars were unloaded and too early for lunch. :(. No way can I drive back on empty stomach.

Weatherspoons in Stafford is in the old picture house near the river bridge - yes I am decrepit enough to have been when it was a cinema :) I think they kept the inside the same as much as possible
(everyone else google the images, a very lovely buiding )

if you had gone over the river and along about 5 mins you would have found a much more sophisticated dining place - the Post House - it used to be the post office until not very long ago and again they kept some of the original features inside including a post box. its worth just going for coffee just to have a look inside. I think they also have a salsa night once a week

Stafford also has a Pizza Express - I've only been at lunch time, its not the best but it might be better in the evening. Useful though if you have the nectar Pizza Express offer. Its in an OOD bank building in the square in the middle.
Bella Italia went some time ago sadly

there is a pub in Salter Street where we go for lunch once a month which I think is a Banks pub but it has meal deal offers

    http://www.vinehotelpub.co.uk/

also there is a theatre which I assume has a resturant but we have never been so I can't comment on the food

so that's my input on eating places in Stafford but the best thing to do is to get some picnic food and go and eat it in the park - very lovely park by the station :)

Thanks mhoc will pass info to DD2, she likes the new riverside shopping centre she doesn't think it was there last time she was here which will be well over year ago. We walked back along river and saw somewhere called revolution where we could have eaten and they do half price Mondays. :money:

Sat outside As now waiting to drop her back, Mr TS is picking sweets for return trip. I dare not go in otherwise I will be rounded out the shop if I start browsing. :o

Accommodation she is in is quite good :)

    Morning folks :)

It's bank holiday and it's not raining! :j

We are heading out to wyevale garden centre this morning. By all accounts there are some serious gardening bargains to be had

For the allotmenters - I found a Facebook group called "allotment life" which appears to be a mine of information :)

Morning, are you going to the Tarporley one? Groupon had an afternoon tea deal recently for £6 for two.
If there are any good bargains there it might be worth the 30 minute drive there for me.:)

not sure if I saw this groupon deal but was it a proper afternoon tea with sandwiches, scone and cake?
Or just a scone and cream and tea offer?

I've noticed a few offers for "afternoon tea" in various places but when you investigate them properly its just tea and a scone

We have had some really magnificent afternoon deals with deals eg Holmfirth vinery, Lake district distillery,

It was the real deal:) sandwiches, cakes, scones, macaroons, fudge. I've been 3 times and slightly different each time, service was slow though. So many now include fizz:mad: I don't want fizz and the extra cost involved when I have to drive.

    Did you find any bargains?:)
