I've spent the afternoon doing battle with Virgin East Coast. The simple task of picking pre booked tickets from the train station should be straightforward enough? Wrong
Card in machine as it says "for authentication purposes only" Type in booking reference. Computer says "No." Not card I had booked with, well it would have been if that card hadn't have been destroyed because fraudulent activity was detected.
Phone up, customer services they say ok, we'll make so that your tickets can be retrieved using any card. Sounds good? Wrong. Person didn't do what they said they would do. Ticket machine said no.
Eventually came home, (flat battery, no cash) phoned again, said he would do the same  back to the train station to pick up tickets. What a good way to waste four hoursSomething unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

Hope the graduation was fabulous no matter what the weather Nanny, you must be so proud.
That sounds so painful. You're just trying to match VT with her sore foot aren't you?!
Need to go an vote in a bit, and take DD out for a driving lesson tomorrow as she has her test tomorrow.
She has just managed to score herself a summer job at the local-ish holiday park (not where bubbs is in case she reads this, other direction!) as a lifeguard. I told her to get in touch with them. She sent a cv last week and heard nothing, got her to chase it and she managed to pop in as she was out with her Dad and they were close by. £9 an hour.
It does sound like N has done to her right foot exactly what the surgeons did to my left one:eek:
Office chair I remembered from when Patty Labelles' husband was laid up after an op. He used an office chair to get around then.
The Elite has lots of tips.
N might come back and admit there was Mangoes involved;)
Poor thing. First thing my mum said when I told her was how was N going to sit still. I have suggested watching BB from the beginning.
At least I can sympathise as I know how she feels. 9 weeks on and I am still swollen and in pain. Had a check up this week and have another in 3 months.
Nothing very mse today as walked into Debenhams straight into the Sketchers display. Bought the lovely cream lace ones with memory foam. As I still can't wear anything else I consider money well spent. Then on to Savers where I got Veet in shower for £1.99 and some L'oreal moisturiser for £3.49:T

That sounds soooo frustrating! The worst I have had is the machines breaking down and the counter staff not knowing how to issue a prebooked ticket. The sooner our local station machines can give them out the better, but not holding my breath.
Assume you did finally get the tickets. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

I am sure its impossible and got a bug in it most I got is 26,000 + lol I have a friend on level 1809 so see if she over takes me then I will know its possible.
Its a countdown level hardest countdown level I have seen :eek:0 -
Good morning all.:D
We arrived home yesterday morning after a traumatic final four hours of our holiday:( We went for a final swim before our flight home, and walking back to the apartment I managed to step in a crab hole covered in grass, (think rabbit hole size, but made by a dinner plate sized land crab), and damaged my ankle, huge cracking/ripping sound, and unbelievable pain.
Flight home was painful, despite strapping and painkillers. Local hospital here x rayed it and I have ripped a ligament off the bone, taking a lump of bone with it. I'm now non weight bearing, with a back slab plaster, and elbow crutches. I'm really frustrated because I'm so limited. Couldn't even make a coffee and take it to the sitting room, so got DH to bring down the office chair and I'm trundling around downstairs on that, much to DS2's amusement.
Hope the meet goes well today and you all enjoy yourselves.

Ouch:(
It's a right PIA when you're an active person. When I broke my elbow, although not a patch on foot/ ankle, it was in cast for just over a week and it drove me demented. So pleased that they decided to operate as I could regain some use.Enterprise_1701C wrote: »

For your information:
Asda Price Guarantee comparisons are based on prices correct as of date of delivery (online shoppers) or date of purchase (in store customers).
Where a product comparison price is N/A, either, a) the independent agencies that collect the price data have not found an equivalent product at the named competitor, based on the comparison criteria (see Terms & Conditions) ; or b) the product is part of a particular promotion which makes it difficult for a fair comparison to be made (see Terms & Conditions).
Comparisons are limited to a maximum of 10 items per product and 10Kg for items sold by weight.
All prices displayed in red are net of any multibuys savings or discounts. For example items that are £1.47 each which are part of a "2 for £2.50" promotion will be shown at £1.25 each where the customer buys the required quantity. They may therefore be a different price to that shown on your receipt or delivery note.
Any items of George clothing or Home and Leisure items are excluded from this comparison.
Please see Terms & Conditions for a full list of exclusions and further information.essex girl in exile0 -
