The Dulux Paint+ Cashback Challenge 26th-29th August 2016
Seems simple enough
Buy at least 2 tins of qualifying paint, register your purchase and a before pic of the room, then upload a pic of the newly decorated pic for 100% refund.

This was hidden away on local radio, well 'local' I was listening to good old Northsound:D Not seen it promoted anywhere else.
At least you've still got some "local" radio station name. Many of them have been replaced by national branded names and networked output.
Here I should have stopped:rotfl: - but let's continue onto the bugbear... networked output that diminishes listener choice as regards listening across stations from different station target survey areas that can all be received in their area but then choice is measured as regards the local target area and doesn't take account of reception of stations from other areas in your own. Then again, it's not largely relevant anymore, as everything can be received on the internet these days regardless of whether you live in the locality or not. But tens of different "Hearts", or whatever, largely the same output on all of them - doesn't increase listener choice! (In the old ages, when it was radio and not internet, I'd have said it was a wasting of valuable resource of spectrum space that ought to be used more efficiently, to provide different services of real unique character and difference, but then again it's competition and the market again and it results in suppliers providing all the same that gets the most audience (the "greatest minority" of people). Anyway, it's all irrelevant as no-one is ever interested in anything I say:rotfl:.
Yawn. Borrrrrr-ing!)
I think the concept of listener choice went out of the window years ago. It was a fad believed it for a short while and never fully realised. In fact I think we had more choice when there were just a few stations. The variety and output on them back then was much more varied. But then they did not have competition that forced them to all be the same across nearly all of their output. The BBC is same as well, by day, and I don't see that it provides choice for me. Music-wise, I nowadays like none of the numerous stations during the day. I used to like all of them. And I don't even bother with evenings anymore as you never hear the stuff again. It was never popular since it was never aired at the time at which most people were listening, and therefore many people did not become aware of it so could not buy it and make it a hit. And then it won't be played years later as it was not a hit. It unlikely to be heard again - with so much music being produced, and so much better than before (but the 0.0001% of stuff I dislike being on the radio at every moment), any individual song is unlikely to appear. Or if it does, they'll pick an artist who had a hit with it rather than the sidelined artist whose version I liked. Just seemingly to add insult to the injury:rotfl:. But, then again, when I suggest we had more choice in the 1980s, I'm looking at it through rose-tinted specs probably and to a good era that never truly was.
Anyway, my considered argument over all of this is boring again so no-one's bothered!:rotfl::rotfl:
Again, though, it's all marketing and provision of the same thing, just like supermarket offers or "alternative" value ranges that, really, are much the same (nice though, unlike radio output:rotfl::rotfl:) at the very same prices (except for the "value" range of Sains. that are more expensive as that's the marketing tactic of premium and differentiation - or seeking to differentiate what probably in truth are much the same).
Occasionally, I will use comparemyradio.com in order to provide what I claim to be evidence and stats to show, indicate or attempt to prove my assertion that the radio isn't playing the music I like, but no-one's interested there either:rotfl::rotfl:.0 -

Hello
Sorry about DS , why do they HAVE to get a c?
So much harder for the kids today
Hope you get on ok tomorrow x
I think because employers expect a C in Maths and English. Government brought in rules that if you didn't achieve them, you had to keep retaking whilst in compulsory education, and its now compulsory until 18 (unless you do an apprenticeship). DS will be 19 this year, so I guess if we kicked up enough of a stink maybe he wouldn't have to do it, I've no idea really. His tutor suggested he didn't have a scribe, but then his work would be unreadable so that wouldn't work. I just feel so sorry for him. He is passing everything on his Level 3 Childcare course, just the GCSE English he can't do.
Thank you, probably a pointless trip tomorrow but just hoping for a bit of reassurance. Last night was quite scary, really brought it home to me that things can change from great to an emergency situation in just a few hours.
You need to get your wheezy chest sorted!0 -
