Good Afternoon peeps...Hope you are all having a good one....Rather envious of all your holiday plans...:(:(...Perhaps next year:cool:[STRIKE]68 [STRIKE]Mouses[/STRIKE] [/STRIKE]
OMG, I'm rich! Silver in the hair, Gold in the teeff, Crystals in the Kidney, Sugar in the blood, Lead in the butt, Iron in the arteries and an inexhaustible supply of natural gas! I never thought I would accumulate such wealth!! :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Well done to your ds. Mine didn't do so well, was the first year though, hoping he gets accepted to continue.
Mr T had lots of duvets, covers etc last week, some were 75% off.
Happy shopping and good luck to you both.
Don't despair Curl girl.....last years AS level results were a real eye opener to our DS....he flew through GCSE's and thought that A level's were going to be just as easy....
He basically re took all the AS modules as well as A levels modules this year and managed to bring them right up...not quite to his first choice University...but their loss is his new uni choice's gain!!!!!
(he had a low grade in Maths which basically first choice wouldn't overlook despite the other grades being as required in Chemistry and Physics)
good luck to your son. the second year is hard work but a bad year can be re written if he just takes it one step at a time x
I've managed a couple of duvet covers and duvet from T in the sale so there are a few bits still around..its a shame that I didn't think about towels in the double up CC thing a couple of months agofrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -

There's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Good morning all....
I now officially need a bucket load of glitches....talk about students being poor,as a parent I'm feeling the pinch too!!!!!
Accommodation is now sorted for the next 41 weeks of study....but the downside was we had to sign a direct debit for almost £6000,taken I may add in 4 "convenient instalments "...for them yes...for me thats debatable.
I'm off out this morning to find bedding, towels and duvet covers...
DS is off to the Halifax to switch his current account and earn £100 switching bonus,so at least he's on the MSE route...
.....Actually I'm loving it all(whatever the cost).....and still smiling that he's managed his dream!
Afternoon all! Long time no see, been a busy few weeks in the Arthien household!
Interesting to see the above, normally uni halls take 3 payments to coincide with the 3 student loan payments at the start of each term. Unfortunately mine/hubby's didn't, so there was a lot of beg/borrow/stealing going on as they wanted the first payment of around £2k up front to reserve the room!
If you have any questions/queries at all, feel free to drop me a PM. I worked for the student recruitment team when I was at uni so I probably have a bit more insider info than most0 -
Morning all, we're also joining the Sept hols, going to France for 10 days from 31st Aug. Just hope we get some nice weather. I've ordered the halifax clarity card as Martin recommends this to be the best way of getting cash out....hope its true!!
Have a look into the Revolt card that is mentioned too.. It is really handy, especially if you have a smart phone, and dead easy to use.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”
