matty....have you considered the Nationwide Flex plus account?....it costs £10 per month but you get....
Our FlexPlus current account offers competitive in credit interest and charges as well as a range of value added features including Worldwide Family Travel Insurance, UK & European Breakdown and Recovery Assistance, Worldwide Family Mobile Phone Insurance, Extended Warranty Protection, Identity Theft Assistance and Worldwide Emergency Card Assistance

DH and I changed ours to a joint account, as that way, the breakdown cover, will cover both of us, and therefore both our vehicles (account holder has to be in the vehicle that has broken down)....add in the travel insurance, and mobile cover, and I think its a good deal for £120 per year. Oh and 3% interest on £2500.
Looks like mhoc and I were thinking the same

you remembered the various insurances better than I did

also apply through TCB for cashback

Heaven forbid having to use them and get them dirty, they will do fine as a fashion accessory on the end of the bench looking nice :)

Has anyone got any tips please for travel insurance for America? Not something I buy often so dont know where to start looking. I know some banks offer insurance free with certain accounts but dont know of any. Thanks in advance for any help.
The main thing is to make sure you have plenty of medical cover. Not sure whether what the banks offer would be sufficient? Martin usually has an article somewhere giving the best buys and is generally our first port of call.

  • Well done on the Le Creuset davemorton, very jealous here :D

That said, I found out the other day that my griddle is Le Creuset! Got it in Army and Navy quite a few years ago, OH was told to eat more healthily so decided to griddle stuff rather than frying it, picked up this one in the sale for about £20. Thought it was a good price for a griddle, suspect this must have been before the name became fashionable
