We received the quote for our ground source heat pump....£41,000. OH said we could keep the house warmer by throwing £20 notes on the fire....
DS1 has left to live in Cambodia (there is something wrong with that lad...he picks places to live that cause me a heart attack, the safest place he has lived was Khoh Lak.. which sadly was bombed the other day).
DS2 is going back to uni, and he is actually working over the summer... he announced he is buying a new top speck computer with his wages. I told him he is not... as he will be reliant on us to keep him/pay fees etc. he is not buying anything unnecessary He is not happy with me.
DS3 asked me to go suit shopping with him. He has to go to court for speeding. I may kill him. I've told him he needs to try all of the various suits on in the house, and find the one that fits best. He said he would buy what he wanted.... I reminded him that he has borrowed the money to buy 3 cars, undertake various repairs, pay for insurances, and recently took my credit card on holiday with him for emergency purposes and spend £1100 on it.... and each time he promises to pay back immediately and does not but goes on to spend money on more rubbish...
I am rather proud on myself....but I think non of them will be speaking to me today!! lol
On a good noted I am off to Goldsmiths with £1250 from Mr T..... whoop whoop...
Your ground source heat pump sounds very expensive:eek: My parents have 2. one for central heating and another for hotwater when they have a house full and not enough sunshine. They have a large 4 storey house and I am pretty sure they did not spend that amount. Think you need a few more quotes, and remember a salesman will drop the price at the end of the month to hit targets.
Waiting to Watch Murray. Was disappointed he lost the mixed doubles semi final. Game felt like it never got going:(

I do cherish the time I have with grandson, and I miss him dreadfully when I don't see him- I feel very privileged to be able to live at theres sunday- Wednesday be there in the mornings as he wakes, be there at bath time and there at bed time and the sleepless nights...... I just feel that I ought to be more organised and I ought to be able to do more!
The things I have to put up with are sleeping on a blow up mattress on the floor as they are only in a 1 bedroom apartment and having to get up and down hurts dreadfully as my hip and knees give me pain ..from constantly on me knees whilst nursing on community and doing leg dressings etc.....and my dil texting every hour with wanting to know what he is doing have I changed his nappy has he had breakfast has he had his nap, I know she is anxious but she does go over board because when she gets home from work she then ignores him for most of the time and goes and has a nap herself ( I know she is expecting again but perhaps if she went to bed before midnight she wouldn't be as tired)
I must sound like an awful bit.h but I bite my tongue because I love the precious time I have with grandson...I then get home and have my 15 year old grandson (who lives with us) who is the stroppy teenager from hell but I also cherish the time spent with him.
I must admit New Zealand is an awful long way and a tad more than 3 hours!! I know im lucky I just hope and pray that they don't move to the Philippians- she is Filipino and has land and a mango plantation there as well as some close family - although she has her mum sister and brother in London x
Could you suggest they buy a decent sofa bed for your use in exchange for all the free babysitting? Are they planning to move before baby no 2 and will you be expected to do this all over again with the 2 of them?
With I stay with dd I use to use a folding guest bed but once dgd was in a full size bed there was not enough room so now sleep in with dd and my son in law sleeps on sofa with the cats:rotfl:
I think a decent sofa bed would be ideal solution as be higher off the floor for you and of course packs away each day so takes up no space. Grandmas who are willing to go to the extremes you do to help their children stay working deserve some luxury whilst doing it.

Hillbern.....a friend of mine looks after her granddaughter one day a week, whilst her parents are at work. During the day she whatsapps the Mum and Dad with photos and comments....maybe a photo of her eating her lunch, with a comment of 'Hi Mum and Dad, look I have eaten all my lunch and didnt get too much down my clean clothes'....or something similar. I know that the Mum & Dad really appreciate it, as they say, that although they are not there, they feel reassured that she is fine, and can see what she has odone/where she has been. Just a thought....might this help?

Afternoon all, hope you have some sunshine - the North West is mixed, if the drat tend wind would drop it would be lovely
just back from Liverpool - we got our free bottles of Buxton from the station, got new vests and cardigans from Primark (British summer essentials) :j wandered across to Liverpool one where the Blossom Hill girls were sampling so we walked past a few times, lots of lovely samples and they also gave us leaflets which turned out to have 3 50p MOCs in them :j, then to John Lewis to share a coffee and cake - chocolate, black currant and liquorish - very unusual. Then we went to Monsoon to see the sale items, sadly the dress I tried on was a bit short. I got the green sample bottles from Body Shop, most places have run out now.
best bit was going to Boots and getting a very nice benefits lady to style my eyebrows - they really need a waxing - so now I know how to use the so post freebie that came in the post
and we finished off with lunch in Pizza Express using our nectar codes
-great Saturday

please can I ask how long she has been in London - did she come across to study? Did she come across with her mum sister and brother at the same time?
its a difficult situation but your grandson is little for such a short time - some places they are at school now at least part time by the time they get to three.
a good sofa bed might be the answer but is there room in this flat? what will happen when baby number 2 comes along, it sounds like they have long ago outgrown this flat but I know 2 beds in London have OMG rents.
Will she be on maternity leave after baby number 2 and if so what will happen to you, will they need you?“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. I use it for sending pictures as it doesn't cost anything...those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.
