We just had a nest treated by the council, it had a few access points. He said it was some sort of chemical that the wasps carry into the nest and that then kills the others in the nest, once the queen is killed the others will die off. As long as he is getting some of the powder in, it should have an impact but maybe slower if it is not much powder. I have to say ours had died off completely within 24/36 hours. Sorry I'm not sure about the shaking of the container, good luck.
Thanks, I don't think our council do it any more.
Did they just charge you one fee for more than one access point?0 -

Hi all. I have posted this on the 'in my home' board, but as the elite thread is full of such knowledgeable people, I hope you don't mind me reposting here
(I do realise it is likely to get lost in the pizza glitch!)
If anyone can give their expertise on the following, I would be most grateful ....
We have noticed wasps going in and out of the fascia boards of our house. The wasps are going in at two separate points, about a metre apart.
1. Does this mean that there are 2 nests, or just one nest that they are accessing at different points?
2. Also, when it comes to treating it, would we need to treat both access points? OH can reach one of them (with a ladder), but not the other.
3. Finally, as the access point is under the fascia board, and can't be seen from inside the attic, is there any advice on how to apply the powder to the access point? Even after shaking the container, hardly any powder comes out when it is pointing upwards!
As always, thanks for any advice and tips
Mr TS says he would not like to think it was one nest if they are going in two access points metre apart but also that is a little bit close for two nests to be.
He says you really need to check before you treat it whether the nest is actually in your loft space, I am guessing you have from what you said if you haven't you should check at night.
He said he would be tempted to get professional help with this one as it is high up and if you get stung by one it will let off a pheromone and the others will be after you. He did say if you do decide to do it yourselves you must do it at night when the wasps have calmed down, they do sleep at night. He also said the powder you buy should puff in the gap ok, he treated a lower level one in an air brick once. The poison gets taken back to the queen so the nest does die.0 -

I didn't know about the free coke but looks like I'm going to tesco now.
I've searched for cheap fridges and nothing tickles my fancy, the next question is do these pizzas taste ok? (surely better than Dr Os).
And are they freezable? as I have more space in my freezer than the fridge at the moment.
You are all giving my eyes a good work out tonight. :rotfl:
Yes the pizzas are freezeable. :cool:0 -
