Right, so this isn't "in my opinion" but someone else's:
Regarding refusing entry:

Regarding changing locks without LL consent:

I originally wanted to use PIMS as a source, but since I don't work in that sector anymore, I don't have access to their full website. The above links are of course LL POV.
Since my views are not welcome, I won't be posting here anymore, but best of luck to you OP! :beer:Compact living, sprouting, change checking, long distance SO, survey junkie

I may be wrong but certainly from my perspective I don't think that you should stop posting. Ok this is a public forum you can post (within reason ) what you want.
That is the amazing and yet mad world of the internet. Everyone can have an opinion. The problem is that no-one ever really knows if it is based in fact or fiction. Just because someone says something you do not like ? just ignore them. I have been here for a couple of years and sometimes god I could scream at the advice given. Sometimes it is amazing. Sometimes I have been in tears reading how someone has managed to get through a situation with in some cases only their virtual friends to help. That is the pro's and cons of a public forum.
You have given you opinion and that is good. It is up to the OP what they do. Just as it is up to you if you chose to not post any more.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -

I couldn't find the first link you posted, but as for the 2nd! The landlord you quote to support you is a "grade A" moron.
He is talking nonsense for the most part. A landlord doesn't need "permission".
When you click the link he provides to a problem he had with a tenant, then you get gems like this:As for her personality, she was a nice woman from what I experienced. However, I always sniffed a hint of chav/!!!!! from her essence, even though I never saw her trailer park side.
Arguing over interpretation of legislation is one thing, but the link seems to be more tongue in cheek than serious.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -

Thank you for your kind thoughts:Miss_Samantha wrote: »Since you are posting a link to the statute you purports to quote, perhaps you should read it first.
The right of access is a term of the lease.
In any case, I don't understand the point of your post apart from being argumentative.
Point? So that others - including your good self - may understand the true position, rather than the narrow and incorrect, IMHO, position you have been asserting.
Have you read the very long thread I noted? You may find it instructive, helpful..

I'm waiting for you to point what is incorrect in what I have written.0 -
I can't help but think that Miss Samantha and artful have come to some kind of misunderstanding about what is being said.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0

unless im mistaken (which does happen from time to time)
M S is saying that the law comprises part of the 'terms of the tenancy'
Whereas
TAL is taking the 'terms of the tenancy' as additional terms, outside of what is enshrined in law.0 -
Based on the majority of the comments and by speaking with my wife I have decided to just let her come in. We had a good relationship with the LL so far, but it will be certainly scratched from now on, more from my side than hers imo.
Thank you all for the answers, as always really helpful people here!0
