Cheers Hannah. I was cheeky - my little one had his juice bottle in the changing bag and I had half a bottle of diet coke so we quietly swigged at those instead of buying more drinks haha I didn't get a new receipt though! Gutted.HIGHEST DEBT £63,300 LBM 27/5/2020 DEBT FREE DATE 31.08.20220

I wouldn't worry they make that much money you sneak in those drinks ! Defo don't forget to ask for a receipt next time.
Lovely few days for DS's birthday our plans to go to a zoo Wednesday had to change as it was rain all day so went to The National Soacw Centre £28 entry £3 on drinks and £2.50 on a fridge magnet. Quite restraint spending wise fornus on a day out. Yesterday was a named as we stayed in and took a walk with his new bike and had lots of family popping in to visit. We had planned a trip to one of the National Trust parks today with my dad and his wife but it's cloudy and damp so not great for chilling in a beautiful park. We were thinking of alternative ideas with my dad yesterday and he said he would pay for the zoo I told him I felt bad him paying but with mat pay and saving we just couldn't afford it after the day out Wednesday. He insisted though I said I'd make a big picnic for us all and he also said not to worry and he'd get lunch. I do feel bad but then he has a massive house and a good job so need to swallow my pride and just enjoy the day. He wouldn't offer if he couldn't afford it so today should be a nice day.
I need to make a shopping list for the BBQ Sunday and stick to it!!! Maybe I'll send DP as I'm awful at sticking to a list! I wonder if there is a forum with tips to help with that!
DP got paid but were about £100 short for bills but I should be getting a nice three weeks full time pay on the 15th so that'll sort things out and hopefully we can save a bit this months that £2000 hasn't moved in months! I'm so glad it's there and hasn't had to be spent but it seems to be taking ages to save.
I got a speeding ticket though yesterday ! My first one in 12 years of driving! I knew it was coming one bit was crying in the car and the other was crying and pooping! I was just distracted! So annoying I have drove that road 100 times! I knew it was coming as I saw the flash! I'll get the form sent back asap and see the damage. It's all changed hasn't it and goes on your wages I was 34 in a 30 so it's 50% of a weeks wages and three points I think. Not sure how they work out how much wages your on. Guess it'll teach me to try and ignore the boys more and focus on driving!
Think that's all for now. Dinner prepped in the fridge ready to throw in when we get back as I was worried we'd stop somewhere for food after a long day out. Xemergency fund:£179/ £1000 Uniform/car fund:£

Hannah,
We've all been there with distractions in the car - me too the other day when my mum had had a stroke. The whole 'new system' of fines that was doing the rounds on Facebook was a farce don't worry - it's still a fixed fine. The percentage of your wage only comes in if you refuse to pay and go to court. It's a guide for the judges.
Have a great day at the Zoo!!

Oooh thanks Debbie I just re read the letter and looks like the fine will be £100.....on the wages scheme I would have probably paid less due to being on mat pay. Booo! Oh well I will learn from it.
DP took £20 cash from a cash machine on a day out last week and we can't find it anywhere! Our only answer is he was distracted by one of the kids and left the cash in the machine! Wahhh we are throwing money away this month!!!
Roll on next Friday for payday. I'm trying to not wish away the time and enjoy my last few weeks mat leave. It's so easy to just keep counting down until payday!
I saw a good post on facebook. "Don't wait for things to be perfect before you begin to enjoy yourself" this really made me rethink. I do spend a lot of time worrying over money and being annoyed we don't own our own home/hating the house we rents as it's so cheap so we can save more. I must stop wishing time away and enjoy the here and now. Xemergency fund:£179/ £1000 Uniform/car fund:£

Not much to report today.
Popping to the social club with my neighbour later but I'll just stick to a couple of drinks as it's dp's day off tomorrow and I don't want to spend the day feeling awful. We've said we would go swimming so £8 ish spend. We normally have lunch at the leisure centre after as it's a 40min drive away but we will head over early enough to be home for lunch as we cannot afford lunch.
Ds1 has dropped his 2 hour afternoon nap! Aghhhh!! I need to stop stress eating sugar based products to get me through the afternoon! just letting him have half an hour to time and I'm having a brew and a chill. I need a little zone out time to make it through the day sane I think. Xemergency fund:£179/ £1000 Uniform/car fund:£

Thanks Hannah, yes she is. It was minor and in the center of her brain, meaning it thankfully hasn't effected her mobility and can use all 4 limbs etc. She's just incredibly tired (sleeping 20+ hours a day) and has poor short term memory. It could have been much worse so you have to be thankful for these things.
As for the sugar-based products, I don't blame you! I'm all over them at the minute. I went to sainsbury's yesterday and ended up buying way too many bags/boxes of cookies and dohnuts etc that were 20p a pack. My freezer is now full of them :rotfl:

Glad it was just a small one Debbie. It sounds like she is making a good recovery. Fingers crossed she continues to improve once her body has rested up. Also 20p cakes! Winner!
Sooo I spent some money. I went to the social club with my neighbour for a few drinks and a few drinks turned into going to town. £30 spent in total so not horrific but still money I didn't really have to waste on drunk. It was a good night though and doesn't happen often so trying to not feel to guilty. Probably the last night out I'll have this year once I'm back to work and things get crazy busy. We used to go out a lot when we lived in town and pre kids but living out here has really cut that down which was needed anyway. Plus hangovers and kids do not mix! I'm happy with a couple of nights out a year.
Just dropped ds1 off at preschool and ds2 is up napping so I'd best get the house straightened up a little xemergency fund:£179/ £1000 Uniform/car fund:£
