  • To be 8 months pregnant and looking after a 2 year old I think you are a saint! If i was you I would be congratulating myself every day for managing. Such hard work.
Im not surprised you might be a bit moody, You're doing fantastically. The 2 year olds are hilarious tho if they are not yours! Xxx

  • Hey diary,

Thought is best post properly instead of all this quick popping in.

Few things to report money wise. Not sure if I mentioned DP had ordered a amaz0n fire box of eBay with k0de or something. I think it's slightly dodge but it has every channel/program and film on it you could think of. We've used it the last few days and it's so easy to navigate and use that we've cancelled Netflix and I will be calling today to cancel sky! Just under £50 a month saved!!!! £600 a month! I know it's slightly dodge but we really could do with saving the money right now. Will call Sky at nap time.

I have £36 left until payday on Thursday. I've plans to see a friend and my god daughter Tuesday but she is in the process of paying off debt etc too so we always plan something cheap like a picnic at the park or something. I don't think I'll spend much more. I do want to try save a bit of money to get a few new jumpers etc for after baby I remember feeling awful last time not fitting in normal clothes but not wanting to wear maternity. I'm just glad it's October as I can wear jumpers and cover up until I feel more confident with my body. I can't wait to get back out running I miss it.

I've booked a newborn photo shoot luckily I booked my slot before the photographer put up her prices as she's moved to a new fancy studio.

Things I need to order before baby arrives:
Bouncy chair (I have fallen in love with a beautiful one in mamas and papas £50)
Mirrors for back seats of car I need two as currently borrowing my sisters old one which she'll need back. (She's due 20th sep)£20-30
Coming home outfit for baby. (I won't be buying any other clothes I have so many lovely bits from when I wasn't watching money with DS)
Breast pump£50-60 ( I borrowed my sisters last time....just waiting until she's had her baby to see if she breastfeeds hopefully she can this time but if she doesn't I'll be able to borrow it again)
Hospital bag nearly packed....tempted to buy new pj's and slippers to make myself feel a bit treated after a human escaped from my body....we shall see.
I need to start batch cooking in prep.

DP's friend messaged to say he thinks he can get him in for an interview next week. Just hoping all goes well and they can start him after his pat leave mid November. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan.

I think that's all money wise to report for now.

Lazy day in today I have a massive basket of clothes to put away and another full of ironing. Hoping to get it sorted while DS potters around this morning so I can nap. I woke at 3.30am for a toilet trip and my body wouldn't let me go back to sleep. Loving the pregnancy insomnia!

  • Just brought a second hand isofix base for £34 we have a new cat seat ready I don't like taking risks with second hand seats. I'd said I'd buy a base if I saw one for cheap enough. Slight impulse but it'll be worth it for the extra safely and ease of getting baby in the car. Plus I'll be able to resell x

Well done cancelling sky. We've got an isofix base, and it's brilliant. When ds was a baby we were taking him out of the car in his car seat, and it just clicked out. We will be using it again this time.

  • Isofix base picked up. It was half an hours drive away buy near to a really lovely garden centre with animatronic dinosaurs and a great play area so went there with DS as DP isn't at work until 5. Spent £27 on drinks, lunch and cake though. But I had picket money left from the week so not to bad. DS was a treat again....there was a little play corner in the restaurant and another boy tried to come play and he grabbed him and screamed mine at mine because he wanted to use the toys. He is in such a naughty phase at the moment I'm struggling to take him out on my own but need to keep doing it to get him around other children. I'm thinking a few morning in pre school a week may help but that would cost about £200 a month and I really want to avoid that while I'm off work. I've signed him up for toddler gym classes so just waiting to hear back if there is space for him to start ASAP. I don't know just take it a day at a time I guess and hope he settles.

I found the baby bouncer I want in eBay used but only a couple of times.....I put my bid in last minute and stupidly pressed £201 instead of £21 for my highest bid!!! Aghhhhh! It went up to £35 +£5 delivery! So annoyed I could have got a new one for the same price but it's done now I need to not stress about it. It could have been worse and I was trying f to save money. Just one of those annoying things.

Just having a brew and some TV while DS naps.

We are meeting friends at the park tomorrow so will only be a small ice cream spend....if DS behaves that is! £15 in my purse.

Sounds like a lovely place for lunch. It's easy to say, but try not to worry too much about ds's behaviour at the moment. They all go through stages. I have a week where I feel like pulling my hair out because of ds's behaviour, but the following week he is like a little angel again! I find timeout works really well. It calms him down straight away, and once his 3 minutes is up, we have a kiss and cuddle, talk about why he was there and then it's all forgotten about and we play again.

Grrrrr about ebay. That must be so annoying. At least it didn't go up any more!!!

  • Trying to take it one tantrum at a time and remember to breath ha ha! Sometime he's just so confused and frustrated for small reason and I feel for him....other times he's just pushing and testing limits. It's hard to seem them struggling to control their emotions. Poor kids.

I think I'm going to sort my freezer out, meal plan properly and join the Tesc0 super save you mentioned. That way I can order my food while snuggling a baby instead of juggling a baby, toddler and trying to get everything and stay on budget! X

  • You most definitely should buy yourself some nice new pyjamas and slippers for the human escaping your body!! Not long to go now!!

Great savings with cancelling SKY, we have a firestick too with all the channels and it is great! Hopefully we won't end up meeting when we're banged up xxx

  • Ha ha reality. At least we can't spend money in prison!

Nice but busy day here. I'm wrecked it'll be an early night tonight...if I even make it off the bed again I've lied down stupidly. Popped into work as it was a ladies 25th work anniversary so there was a little party and cake. Then to the park with my friend and goddaughter. DS didn't have one tantrum today! Success. I had £15 in my purse I've tucked £5 away in my purse in a hope I'll forget about it until an emergency. Spent £4 on drinks and ice cream and popped £6 on the sealed pot. Pay day is Thursday and I don't intend to leave the house tomorrow....well a trip to the park but that next door. The nearest shop is a 10+mile drive a away which helps.
