Best sim only deal for texts to Canada

Hi All, I need some advice. I am with Giffgaff on a £7.50 sim only goodybag (250mins and unlimited texts) and it works great for all my UK calls and texts.
But I need to text my sister in Canada a few times per month so after asking on the giffgaff forum I know I can do this by adding an extra £10 of airtime credit to my goodybag and I can then text canada until this £10 runs out.
I have been looking at other sim-only deals with LIFE etc I wonder is there a restriction on Canadian (international) texts as well? And you have to add some top up for this like giffgaff does.
I know my sister could add the whatsapp to sort this but she is even more techy challenged than me so although this would be the best solution it wont happen....:-)
