I wish to give Talkmobile 30 days notice to terminate my 2 year contract. On doing this I requested my PAC code and was told they cannot give me a PAC code unless I tell them who my new provider is. I have not arranged a new provider yet as I only want a sim only deal and my contract with Talkmobile is valid until 15 July. I was told that I can terminate my contract today but if I ring back at a later date and request my PAC then my termination date will be reset to this date. Is this correct - do I need to know my next provider now, the PAC code is valid for 30 days?

It's partly correct. A PAC request nulifies the notice to terminate, which is therefore lost and irrelevant... as will the PAC be if not used within 30 days. The part about needing to know who you are porting to is a complete lie. However, its the PAC or the Notice to terminate - you can't have both (if you do the Notice disappears).
