Not on electoral roll?

I've been checking my credit file with clear score and it keeps telling me that I'm not on the electoral roll at my address which is having a negative impact on my credit score.
The polling cards that I had for the May 5th elections and June 23rd referendum would beg to differ that I am not on the electoral roll.
Has anyone else had this issue, and how did they fix it? Worried that since this is a huge negative on my file, it'll have quite a dent if I can't get it fixed. They have my current address on file, I'm not sure why that plus electoral roll aren't tallying.
(That said, only this month did it register my current account... Which I've had since 2006)

I just posted about this on the Clearscore thread. It shows me as not on the electoral roll and this being a negative factor for me (the only one). I raised a dispute with them, which sends it on to Equifax. Equifax just got back to me and said I AM on the electoral roll according to their records, and if I can't see that on Clearscore I should delete my account and make a new one which might refresh it.
Basically don't trust what Clearscore is telling you as it doesn't seem to be an accurate reflection of your Equifax data, which may well be perfectly fine.0 -
Thanks, Ginger. I've been querying why stuff like my long standing current account and personal loan have only just been updated onto my file.
It's on thing if it's free, but it needs to also be accurate as I'm monitoring it for anything unusual (wanting to buy a house in the next couple of years, so keeping on top of it early)
I think I might try Noddle and see if they are any better0 -

Hi natscat
It’s a good idea to check information held by all three of the main credit reference agencies anyway as they may hold different information. These are Experian, Equifax and Call Credit.
Noddle will use the Call Credit information. You can get a statutory copy of your credit file from any of them for £2.

Noddle also has my electoral roll address as my previous address!!
At this point I'm wondering if this is an issue with the council where I live not passing on the information (I'm on the list where mass mailing people can't get my name and address) as looking at my report, I can't work out why my credit rating is so rubbish other than my electoral roll issue
(Income £33k,
personal loan £4500, PCP on car £6600, CC with £450 on it (professional registration fees month), vodafone bill (paid every month) and paypal credit account, next account and Simply Be account, all with nothing on them. Never missed a payment, always pay more than minimum on CC if I can't pay off in full every month. Am stumped why my credit score is rated as 'poor'.0 -

Close the Next and SimplyBe accounts and see what happens. They're overpriced anyway so no loss there.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Because at best, your credit score is a very very vague approximation of how some non existent lender may or may not view your file. In other words, meaningless.
Check when in the year your council sends updates to the CRAs. Many do it in December unless prompted.0 -
1 current account (Natwest, since 2005), £200 overdraft at 0%, occasionally dip into but not every month, always cleared out at end of month on pay day
1 savings account (same times as current a/c)
M&S CC. Had since 2006. Asked them to reduce the limit from £2000 down to £500 back in 2011 as it's my purely 'emergencies card' and usually gets one load of petrol put on in a month and paid off.
1 personal loan (Oct '15) - balance £4500
Toyota PCP (April 2014), currently £6600 left on it, still have 18 months to run on it
Vodafone (been with them since I was 18. Now 31.... Never missed a payment
Paypal credit account (Dec '15 - £500 limit, prefer it to my M&S as it's 0% interest for 4 months every time I make a purchase of £150+) - no balance, paid in full every month.
Next (2010) & JD Williams (2016) - not used regularly, no balance
Car insurance (Jan '16) - £26 per month. Someone told me that if you pay monthly, it's supposed to boost your score. Not worked!!!
No CCJs, defaults or bankruptcies. Only thing I can see is 'lots of credit searches on my file' which all appear to be from when I got car insurance quotes.0 -
Should also point out, which may be relevant - only qualified in August 2015 so until then was earning about £10,000 per year as a student.
Too short an employment window?0 -
A few obvious suggestions -
Stay out of your overdraft
Pay down the loans quicker if you can - that's quite a lot of debt
Close the catalogues
Get a credit card with a decent limit so you don't get anywhere near the limit
Pay car insurance in full - monthly is very expensive0 -
I'm beginning to think I shot myself in the foot by choosing to lower my CC limit (I didn't really want £2k of spending power when I was on a 5 year degree programme!) and then paid of both that one, and my £1500 limit one which I then closed because 'I had the lower limit one for longer'.
Considering I'm a junior doctor, I think I can be pretty dense sometimes!0
