ee invoice problem
Options
I do not have an account with EE or Orange or T-mobile but I have received an invoice from EE as a new customer - telephoned them to complain and was told the account was already noted for fraud - how or why did someone use my name and address - also seems EE did a credit reference check on me and that it might take six weeks to undo the check -
I have not had any dealings at all with EE until now and have not opened an account with them but someone has tried to in my name -

If you didn't receive the phone at your house via courier it must have been signed up for instore.
More worryingly for you then would be the fact that some knows all your personal details and somehow has copies of your personal stuff to prove ID and address.
Have you lost a purse/wallet or had a break in? Or have a family member or friend who might be a bit dishonest?====0 -
No lost wallet or dodgy family/friend - so you have to prove who you are to sign up in store -0

Yes, as an example, here's the CPW page about ID requirements. What do I need to bring to sign up?
You'll need to give us separate proofs of your signature and address - you can't use the same document for both.

You'll need to provide one of the following:
UK driver's licence (if you don't use it as proof of your address)
Valid UK or Irish passport (it must be signed and must not have expired)
Firearms certificate (if you don't use it as proof of your address)
Proof of address
You'll need to provide one of the following:
Full UK driver's licence (if you don't use it as proof of your signature)
Utility bill (a gas, electricity, water or home phone bill - we can't accept British Gas bills or mobile phone bills)
Bank, building society or credit card statement
Firearms certificate (if you don't use it as proof of your signature)

Thanks for the information -
None of those items mentioned have gone in the bin without being torn up first - also I have reported the incident to the Fraud Action Line - now have a case reference - and as yet no monies have gone out of my account -0
