If he isnt using them, he is doing nothing wrong at all. Kodi has many uses, not just the obvious one. It was originally developed for xbox users to watch tv and other media.

You can use it to stream TV shows and movies onto a TV which is perfectly legal provided you have a subscription if the service is paid like Netflix.
