P2P Users and SSE

Just switched to SSE this week and all looked promising for the first 24 hours.

Then my p2p connection dropped from 7-8 Mbps down to 4-65 Kbps.

This for me is a disaster as I use P2P all the time.

As always there is a way around this problem, and I sorted it but what a pain.

So if your looking to switch DON'T CHOOSE SSE!!.

Unless of course your just a gamer..me also.. or you use Netflix, sky movies, which should be just fine.

Many (most) live gaming networks also use P2P. Its for this reason all the major BB providers dropped P2P throttling quite some time ago.

I would agree, but I didn't know that TBH.

I know it's becoming more popular than it was some years ago
But I been an active gamer and downloader for many years now, and I've NEVER come across such anti-P2P bittorrent as SSE (Daisy Wholesale) have shown.

Had I know this I would have stayed with TALKTALK. and let's be honest they don't have the best rep.

    I'm surprised too.

Must be some Mse users which are happy.
    Or they hate talktalk

    Hi
I don't download much maybe about 5g a week if that. Not to worried about the time it takes to download and don't do any online gaming.
Given that profile unless your location makes ADSL dire there seems little justification in choosing FTTC over the cheaper option.

Decided to cancel the order for SSE Fibre. Ended up going back to BT Infinity One worked out after paying for the line rental up front about a fiver a month more expensive than SSE.
Better the Devil you know :)

    Shocking, truly shocking.

I had a chap from SSE ring me a few days ago, since I had a very early start that morning, I was asleep when he rang and I must have sounded booloo when answering his question like, "hows your P2P speed now" etc.. Damn I couldn't even remember how to start a bit torrent connection:mad:

Anyways I am ringing the on Monday and sharing ay feelings about abysmal download speeds and hopefully they can sort it out or let me leave my contract (doubt it )...
