Loaded cash cards?

Hi

I've booked an aparthotel in Portugal. We go 21st July. We've booked it through booking.com and only need to pay when we get to the hotel. Obviously with the euro pound exchange rate looking likely to go down and the price of the apartment being in Euros I'd like to either pay for it now or exchange pounds into euros to make sure I know what its going to cost me. I can't see any way on booking.comto pay for it now so I'm going to have to exchange some money now , BUT I don't want to take that much cash with me so would like to take a prepaid card.

I have two questions:

1)I know the calculator on here will point me in the direction of the best value card but wanted some opinions off folks who have used them ?

2)Can I take it the hotel will accept whatever card I take?

Thanks

Terence

Fairfx card is a prepaid MasterCard so accepted virtually anywhere. I have a Dollar one and a Euro one and just use them like any other payment card.

If you use iPhone or Android you can install the Revolut app, sign up and load some pounds with your bank debit card, all in a few minutes. Then you can exchange to euros immediately or whenever you choose. The virtual MasterCard is ready to use online and they will send you a solid one in about a week. I have been using Revolut worldwide for almost a year and find it very useful.
