Hi all,
So I'm nearing the end of an awesome MSE Sky phone, broadband and tv deal. Basically got everything including movies and sports for ~£33 a month! Really enjoyed sky plus, box sets etc not bothered about sports.
List price of the package is over £100 per month.
So....what now? I know others got this deal before me so I'm hoping people will chime in here with how their renewals have gone,
Keen to stay with sky IF a good deal can be had but I won't be paying anything close to list price!
Cheers all
Noel

See the Sky etc threads on the phone and tv forum .
Basically you cancel and see what they offer .0 -
Thank you however I'm specifically interested in the experience of those renewing and haggling a year after taking the MSE deal0

When I quit Sky a few years back I was on 25% off, they still tried to keep me including going to 70/75% off, they've been offering 50% off plus freebie\cashback ever since0

Is it possible to cancel the service and once cancelled apply for new TV service in another name? This is to claim Quidco and £100 pre-paid card.0 -

I doubt that your present deal will have any bearing on what you can haggle. Some is down to luck, the actual person you speak to and what offers are allowed.
Many of us took the free tv and broadband offer, when O2 sold out it's phone/broadband to Sky, but the new contracts varied quite a lot.0 -

I am on the same deal from last year, due to end in August.
Would be interested to know how you got on renewing? What should I expect to be offered?0 -
I got this deal last year and just rang to cancel this moring as im not paying £112 from £38 when the 12 months is up, Got offered TV only for £47, currently have sports, movies, boxsets multiroom ect, broadband and phone for £38, advisor saying do you really want me to press cancellation button? i said yes, got passed to another department where i was asked why im leaving, told them i can justify the price hike, if they can give me the same deal again i would stay but as they cant offer me that, they have left me no option than to leave! lol Was advised i will be contacted when new deals arise lol. Im moving house so i will wait till i move then hopefully Martin will of found us another amazing deal like we all got last time!If ive helped in any way please feel free to hit the "thanks" button!
It only takes a second and means so much:beer:

Hi. I also signed up to Sky on the MSE deal.
-12 month Sky Family Pack with Sport & Movies
-Unlimited Sky Fibre (+£10/month - 1/2 price)
-HD Sports Pack added (+£5 month I think?)
-Sky 3D (free)
-Sky pay as you talk
-Caller ID (free)
I think this was approx £48/month when I signed up through MSE deal, but with recent price increase went up to £51.40/ month.
This deal ends next month and was due to increase to approx. £118.
I used the sky online chat to try to get a new deal. I was clear I wanted to stay, but only if price was the same as I pay currently. Although they were helpful and tried to give a new deal they could get nowhere near the price I currently pay.
I was offered 50% discount on TV package. 1/2 price fibre unlimited. To keep my package the same this came to £73.40/month. If I dropped movies they would offer an additional £9 discount.
I chose to cancel, but will wait and see if I am offered anything better in the next few day.
I have a feeling it wont be anything near the price of the MSE deal.0 -
I'm in the same boat, got the full monty with sky for just under £50 a month and it runs out mid September.
I think the trick is to either wait until they switch it off then negotiate a new deal OR if you don't have the guts to do this or don't want it switched off, log into your sky account online, the day before it's due to be turned off and look under "my offers". They will get better as D-Day approaches.0 -
Although I'd fully expect the retention offers to be far cheaper than the official list price, anyone currently paying £38 for everything is going to be disappointed going forward. These offers are meant to hook new customers, they are not meant as a permanent price reduction!
Regardless, as always, the only way to get the best retention deals is to actually cancel and mean it.doncastercity wrote: »Im moving house so i will wait till i move then hopefully Martin will of found us another amazing deal like we all got last time!0
