HSBC Advance Bank Account Application

What extra does premier offer? I can see advance has a separate customer number and higher rate saver. Don't see much about premier that justifies the conditions.0

Sorry, but what is the separate number for Advance? I have always phoned the 03457 404404 number.
When I got automatically upgraded to Advance nearly two years ago, I don't recall having issues with the upgrade process.
The whole process seemed straightforward.Save Save Save

Err travel insurance and a personal manager. not much.
It's not HSBC private.0 -
I suspect the guy on the phone might have sales targets on numbers of appointments he books, and might have been trying it on.0

Depending upon if you are a new customer or an existing customer dictates what the options you have if your were to apply for an Advance account.
According to the site (http://www.hsbc.co.uk/1/2/current-accounts/hsbc-advance/how-to-apply just checked a few minutes ago), if you are a new customer, you can apply: Online, Phone, or in Branch.
If you are an existing customer, then you can apply by: Phone, or in Branch. Online option is not allowed.
The only bad experience I have had with HSBC was about 8 years ago, when a guy called "Shiva" (I remember the name as it is the same name of a Hindu Deitie/God) said I should be opening up Share accounts with my money and tried to sell me multiple trading accounts. He had a tried the hard-sell, but he didn't want to take no as an answer.
I remember having to lodge a formal complaint, and they (HSBC in the UK) said they had spoken to his line manager in India to make him aware of what he was doing was wrong.
I think sometimes you do need to escalate the issue when the information you get back contradicts what is being said from one person to another. In this case, you need to make sure they are "singing from the same hymn sheet", otherwise telling customers (or even potential new customers) incorrect information is not the way forward, as ultimately the customer will likely be acting on this information.Save Save Save

The terms and conditions do state you must not continue to hold an account elsewhere, most people who are eligible for the advance account don't always get it. It's not just a light credit check but also goes through an internal scoring system, you get credit scored on the £1000 overdraft even if you don't apply for an overdraft facility.0

Where do you see that?
Why have you resurrected a thread more than 18 months old, when there are several more up to date?0
