Options
Hi folks,
Is anyone else finishing their masters dissertation at the moment? Mine has to be in in just under 24 hours, and I keep finding things to change in it, am having problems with my graphs and still writing my associated article!!
How do you know when enough is enough? (in terms of editing and re-editing etc)??
anyway, better stop pootling around on here and go and do some bloomin work. I will be so glad when it is finished and gone, I am sooo tired!

  • You may want to do a spell check... is it not a 'dissertation'... see your thread title... :rotfl:

Sorry made me smile on a Sunday morning... good luck with it anyhow... :D
  • thanks, had just spotted that - is now changed!! better triple check the bloody thing before I send it in:rolleyes:

My brain has turned to sawdust, lol
  • Enough is enough when you have a logical and coherent argument, you have critically appraised and integrated the literature and discussed your results intelligently in the context of your study aims, which were clearly stated.

The best advice at this stage is to proof read it thoroughly and list your refs perfectly.

    Presentation is very important.

    Also, get off MSE :)
    de do-do-do, de dar-dar-dar ;)
  • lol - just spotted your edit - very sharp for this time on a sunday!!:D
  • thanks for the useful advice - especially the getting off MSE bit! I am working at the same time though;)

think luck is the last thing you need...as the man says....if it wasn't for bad luck you would have no luck at all....

on a serious note....there's no such thing as luck....you work to make things happen...if you've done that over the past few years....luck doesn't come into it...

I hope you've made it happen, and congratulations in advance!
    I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:

  • just out of interest, what is your dissertation based on and how many words does it have to be?

i will probably be in your position less than one year from now
  • hiya, I am writing about the social impact of a health condition on young people from a youth work perspective. 20,000 words (18,000 words plus a 2000 word article) just trying to get the article polished off now!

Glad you're not leaving it late or anything!

I don't think I have to do a dissertation in my masters (masters degree), thank god. Although my undergrad one this year is supposed to be 14,000 words :(

Oh boy!!! I'm just starting my undergrad dissertation and that seems scary enough (10,000 words).

Good luck and keep at it - one more day and you can chill!!!
